Thats so funny because then he wouldnt be called a warboss he be called dead . It would be after several occasions before said warboss would die, even accidentally. Then if it was by a person from the Imperium then all the orks in that area would charge him till he dies then one of the warbosses nobz would come in and say he is the new warboss. After a couple of days he would have complete control of the waaagh again and everybody will be happy again. The only thing that might go wrong is if the Imperium pushes their advantage which is not likly to happen at all. Even if he died on day 2 they would allready be under seige and most likley couldnt send or recieve vox casts to one another. In the end the orks get back to one another and win the war!!!!

Your so right! The imperium would always be able to snipe out the lead boss before the orks can do anything, that's why Ghazzy died on his first attack on armageddon, and everyone was safe...
Seriously, if it was as easy as you're making it out, then the imperium wouldn't have such an ork problem.

Imperiam would totaly win as the orks in a massed number like that would start attacking each other and kill most of themselves and and the imperium would attack and win

You also have to wonder what kind of a Warboss it would take to unite ALL orks. Probably something orders of magnitude more powerful than we've seen so far. The kind of Warboss that laughs off orbital bombardment and wrestles Titans to the ground.

Why was this thread brought up again? We already decided that imperial diehards (like myself) were not going to budge and the ork supporters weren't either. So it just turns into a giant heated arguement over who is a bigger fanboy

I feel as if the Imperium didn't care about the planets (cough cough Kryptman cough cough), they would just virus bomb the planets that the orks land on en masse, and then attack only when the horde is that much weakened. Now the leader that unifies ALL the orks might be the problem, cause his ass is smarter than the rest - but to outthink most of the imperium top strategists might be a bit much - especially if they are all unified as well. Although, now that I think on just how large the Ultramarine Chapter dominion is, coupled with all the Chapters that they could call on because they are the parent chapter - it would be legion size (or close to it)... It would be hard, I would have to toss this one up to the imperium, but the losses would be grandeur to the point that they would never recover and be taken over by tyranids - NOM NOM NOM Edit - forgot how big the Black Templars were as well... them unified is a very terrifying concept indeed...

I'll just say this in reply. And this goes for anyone reading this. To read through the entire thread. Your proposals and questions and theories have already been stated and answered at some point.
Enjoy your day.

We're quite obviously talking about a VERY hypothetical situation here. But since we're going there...lets go there.
You have an endless plane of battle, extending as far in every direction as necessary. ALL of the combined forces of the Orks and the Imperium meet to the death.
If you consider the sheer numbers of each side, the imperial forces in the backs of the ranks (the far, far, farther back than you can imagine far) would literally die of old age before the orks fought through the rest of the army lol.
And If you consider the fluff, which is the only thing we're working with here, when an ork dies, he explodes into tiny green spores that eventually mature into... you guessed it- more Orks. Time wise, no force imaginable could probably kill them fast enough to deplete their numbers to below threat-level. It would take decades, you could kill 10 billion orks, but midway through the next 10 billion orks, guess what... 10 billion more orks pushing their way through the quickly rising ocean of blood and gore which probably equates to the perfect "womb" for those blasphemous creatures. No way. No way whatsoever the Imperium walks away from that one.
Barring that notion, the first point stands. Now if we assume also that all casualties are vapped into another dimension, so as to not alter the flat, featureless (I'm thinking eerily white and empty) landscape... and Assuming that no one ages in this purgatory-limbo of murder, you may have a battle on your hands. In that case, I'd wager my money on the imperium. Whole Space marine chapters dropping in behind and in the middle of ork lines? Terminators armed to the teeth teleporting in where the battle is most dire? Titans stepping on guardsmen and ork alike, laying building-sized craters of plasma everywhere? Grey knights behind the numberless IG ranks AND tanks, forming their own ranks and Tanks line? SOB flaming everything in sight? Dreadnoughts unleashing innumerable numbers of assault cannon rounds into the green tide? Come on. Thats a ka-deathing of the pants-on-head variety so slowed that the orks would probably just get bored and start slaughtering eachother, at least they'd get to split a skull or two before being turned into ork soup. My thoughts. Enjoy.

Those plasma hole would burn the spores as well, massive explosions from many things would also destroy the spores in the ground, so that's kinda moot, imo.

I'd have to go with Orks because their whole thang is "if they ever unite, they Imperium is doomed"

There are simply too many orks.
A codex is always designed to make the specific army inside shine bright. It's a way to get you to buy it and be a fanboy.
Tau codex never says "These units are overpriced but the guns are cool.", Daemons talk about corrupting everyone, Grey knight talk about being uncorruptable by daemons, it's all there to get you to like the army. An army will never talk bad about it's self. But I digress.
I think the orks would win from sheer numbers. Plus when you kill an ork, more come, so this would be a horrible occasion and they would have to burn the entire planet.
