AP has nothing to do with FnP. Only ID ignores it now.

If they are AP - then I take it that means you get a feel no pain save against them.

You always would anyway - read the new FnP rules.

They can cause ID, however, so it brings up the whole unsaved wound vs FnP debacle.

FnP is not a save. so you roll your Invulnerable Save, if failed you test to see if the Boneswords cause ID, if they don't cause ID you can then attempt to FnP the wound.

Feel No Pain negates the wound, so logically you would test THAT first, then take the instant death test.

And hence the debacle.

Yeah, it negates an unsaved wound. The wound was still an unsaved wound and so all triggers would apply(except death)

Since FnP is not a save(FnP entry) then if it negates the wound it did NOT save it. It simply made it not effect the model.

Can we stop this here? It'll never (and I mean literally never) be agreed on.

INAT has tended to rule that FnP would stop the Bonesword, et al. from working. GW likely won't bother FAQing it. Again.

Agree to disagree.

There's also the point someone was making about challenges.

This actually makes termie sarges with power swords not always the best guy to die first.

If you've got a dude with a fist fighting a termie squad, the Sarge will challenge him, since he's got a sword, if you accept, he'll strike first and splat you. If you don't accept, your power fist, aka the thing you want to use to kill some termies, won't be able to attack.

So, it's a good counter to things.

I am wondering though if the crozius and other power mauls have actually gotten deadlier despite the lower AP value. Now wounding most opponents on 2+ instead of 4+ might negate them getting an extra save.
And if it's a multi wound guy, who you weren't going to instakill anyway and might have an invulnerable save, you can knock him down to i1 for further rounds....
