You need to register your wireless network with your DS in the settings.

They give away Pokémon hand-over-fist in this game. I'm not using the Lapras or Lucario I got given- they're just in the way.

I actually quite liked my Lapras. That, and it's cooler to look at in-game when you're surfing around :3

Not finding Y very difficult, and that's without using Super Training. Think I've used it once. Currently at the Power Station.

Did you make sure to turn off exp share? Also you might want to put your battle on set as well as have a rotation team. THe game is undeniably easier than other pokemon games so if you want a minor challenge (no pokemon game has ever been hard but at least it wasn't THAT much of a breeze) then those are some good choices.

In fairness you at least expect those, it's the one "challenging" place in the whole game.

To add someone as a Friend on the game itself, you both have to be online at the same time, right? I used my girlfriend's DS while mine was charging, and it wiped my friend's list from the game .-.

I've added the friend codes of a few in this thread, does the name matter when you put in the friend code, I put in your dakka user names as nobody seemed to post their 3DS name with their code.

Yes the name you enter is temporary, It'll get overwritten with their DS name when they accept

Just added you Rysear and you came right up. Will be going right to the Safari now; let me know what you get out of mine.

As for making the game harder/longer, I think set battles really could be an idea alright as not only does it add challenge to the battle, but it makes training new guys a bit harder.

Nah you were a Poison Ry, though I got Cascoon and Garbodor, so that's pretty sweet. If anyone is interested, I got Noibat and Sliggoo in Hat's Dragon Safari, Butterfree in someone called Brian's Bug Safari, and I had a Rock Safari under the name Brendan but already had the Pupitar and I think it was Rhyhorn I found in there.

Ahh coolies, one of my mates told me I was Rock type, must have been confused.

I wonder how it works out what type you are, is it by friend code or by the name attached to it, as there must be some out there with Dragon and other types.

Yup, and Nincada is Rare in the normal game world, so that's a plus.
