I've been trying to do video battle reports ever since I remembered I own a camera. After working out the kinks over the first few reports, I feel they're worth posting. I'd really love some feedback on what would make the reports better, don't think you're going to hurt my feelings. I'm considering moving to a more "BoLS" format where I actually use video at the bottom of every turn.
Also if you don't like random metal/hard rock music, turn your speakers down or off.
I like the video idea but I think you have way too much text on the screen to read during the report. We tried some reports and ended up with hybrid post/video reports like this.
We tried actual video too but things happen too slowly and no one wants to sit and watch me move 90 orks. Plus people would just point out every little inconsistency in the way we played.
Take a look at that and some of our other videos and tell me what you think we can do to improve.
And let me know if you put up more reports.
Awesome start!

Was that there was just to much text for you to care, or it was going by to quickly? I've tried to allow a good bit of time to read each slide. I'd say there's less text than in a typical Battle Report, certainly an all text one.
I could try editing text over the pictures so things make a bit more sense, reading what happened followed by 2-6 pictures can be very confusing.
Like I said I may try end of turn wrap ups with video but I kind of like pictures better, they're easier to edit and less interrupting of the game. I really do wish I could do voice overs but my mic is awful and it would sound terrible.
Just subscribe to my channel if you want to know when I put more up, I try to do one a week, usually my favorite game from the weekend.
I think there is too much text to read, there is plenty of time, but I could read in a post. Like on the slide that runs from :38 to :51, you could trim it to.

I guess just short and sweet. Complete sentences are for term papers. I like the info, the writing was just too long. This would shorten the whole video considerably and make it more fun to watch. Most people don't want to spend more than 3 minutes on something on the web.
Hope that helps.
Obviously my videos include more ham and less analysis so you can't really compare the two. Mine are pretty useless from a strategic standpoint.
Yeah I really hate short analysis like those when I read a report, I think it's just personal preference. I'm very detail oriented, I want to know what happened specifically, so that's how I build mine.
I found the amount of time too short to fully digest the text. I ended up pausing on the text screens so that I could take it all in - and then having to wait for the short pause before I could get to the pictures. Not sure if that helps much - reading speed is going to differ between viewers...
I liked it, loved the music (in flames/wolfmother = awesome). I would suggest a more BOLS format because it would make it flow better... I hate reading what happens then seeing pics. Reminds me of a slideshow :/
