I've never ran bikers but I have been thinking they would look badass with all my trukks and battlewagons, but they get so damn expensive. Would 3 Nobs on warbikes and biker Warboss be a good unit?

Keep in mind that Nobs are T4(5), so S8+ weaponry will tear them into pieces.

It also sounds like you're planning on skipping the Painboy? It kind of defeats the purpose of biker nobs when you do so. A min squad doesn't really seem to have a great deal of uses, besides being expensive in itself.

They may appear to be cheap in small numbers, but you are just using less and expecting more. I can predict many games in which the squad would get completely demolished at range. You could try and hide them behind BLOS, in which case they would be a decent counter-assault/tarpit unit.

If you do use the min squad w/o a Painboy, I suggest skipping the Bikerboss, and keeping the squad as cheap as possible. 2 Big choppas and a PK should give them more than enough hitting power, and they can be mildly flexible for that setup. The advantage to taking large/medium squads is that upgrades become much more cost effective, and taking things like Waagh bannahs and 5++ saves begins to make a great deal of sense.

Overall, I would think that a squad of 3 deffkoptas could do anything you wanted your Nob bikers to, and the DK would have advantages that suit a small squad.

I'd say the smallest Nob Biker squad you should run is 5, 3 Nobs, a Painboy and a Warboss. The Nob Biker unit isn't to deliver the Warbos: it is it's own purpose and muscle, so by skimping on it you lose the point.

Looks like am gunna have to proxy some stuff and test some out. I get sticker shock just from pricing out Nobs on foots which I never because of the cost. So Nobs on warbikes is really gunna be hard to swallow.
