Hey all,

I'm from Saudi Arabia which would explain my newbieness to wargaming as none of it exists over there but recently I moved to New Zealand where there are some gaming shops and looking around at all the miniatures really got the "itch" so to speak to play some warhammer so.....I asked a dude on an internet forum for advice and he told me wait for the new 8th edition to come and Iduly waited and purchased it.

And my god, what a monstrous book this is! GW don't make rule books anything but man sized eh?

I'm reading through it and it all seems very easy to follow so far and I'll be sure to ask if any difficulties come up.

As for what army I'm choosing...I'm partial to the Empire for the simple reason is that they're the most "human" faction out there. Doesn't matter what game, show or movie I'm watching. I'll always cheer for the humans because I'm a humoungous racist or something (except when the humans are whiny and annoying like in the Matrix).

So any Empire army building tips for a newbie? I'm partial to armies with a strong infantry core backed up by cannons and supported on the flanks by some maneuverable cavalry.

Moving flat out..

HalloHallo. I'm new to the WHFB also - but I picked Dwarfs.

I've done lots of reading on tactics and counter tactics - but I'd say to the best way to get right on into it is to just play as many games possible.

Good Luck and Welcome to DakkaDakka!

Dakka Dakka is kind of a huge site just to "stumble" over eh?

But thanks to everyone who greeted me. It seems as in real life 40K player outnumber WHFB players
