Well, I don't know that he needs much introduction. This was painted for a commission (and my client seemed quite pleased).

Anyway, I've posted him up on Coolmini, if anyone cares to vote.

Some of your best work yet!

I really like the fiery foot prints the Avatar is leaving on the ground. Stellar work!

Quite stellar painting.

I am not a fan of the model at all, it just seems odd to me, but I can appreciate the work and technique applied.

It's amazingly done, but I'm sort of tired of the molten look, even though that's what he's supposed to be.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

Lol, doesn't mean that I hate the avatar, I just meant I'd like to see some variety in the way it's painted. It's still an amazing model I just want another paintjob.

I've always wondered how large that model is. Is it on a 60mm or 40mm base?

You know, that's true. You don't really see different concepts for this Avatar very much. The Forgeworld sculpt suggests the lava quite a bit more than the Citadel version, and I have seen the Citadel mini painted up without the lava before, but never this mini.

It is a dreadnought sized base- 60mm

It is a great paintjob, but I have never liked that model.

Great paint job
I have to say its my least favorite avatar model (FW one with the spear is by far my favorite) but the quality of painting is brilliant.

I'm wondering about something. A lot of people have some trouble with this mini, but most of them that I talked to told me that they preferred the smaller avatar for playing purposes (this big guy attracts a lot of firepower, and honestly he isn't always tough enough to handle it).

here's a pic i found on the internet that i modified to show all three of the avatars GW/FW have produced. there's a bit of a size difference between the three all legal but completely different models. at least the avatar has a 4+ invul save so you don't have to argue about cover for this monstrous creature!

Man, I used to have that tiny Rogue Trader Avatar mini. I don't know where it ended up going, but I wish I still had it. I love me some classic minis.

I find it strange that there are actually two versions of each of the other Avatars available. They aren't too different, but you'll notice on GW's site, they have two slightly different poses (that include a lot of slightly different pieces) and on Forgeworld's site, there is a second Avatar armed with a spear.

I just do not like the pose.

*sigh* why do Eldar get all the models that make me feel sad and inadequate about my painting skills?
