Hey, new here but not new to 40k. Been playing since late 3rd edition and I'm on a bit of a hiatus. I have five armies: Eldar [(10k) started in 3rd], Tyranids [(6k) started in 4th], Chaos Space Marines [(5k and growing) started in 4th], Necrons [(4.5k) started in late 4th], and Daemons[(1.5k) started in 5th]. I also have a Dark Elf army for fantasy, though I've never actually played Fantasy. I'll probably collect Skaven and High Elves in that new set. I've read a few of the Black Library books, favorite is Eisenhorn. Played Dark Heresy a few times and enjoyed it. Own all the Dawn of War games and was into FoK up until recently.

That's my 40k gaming history. About myself, I have a degree in Computer Information Systems, my birthday was yesterday, obviously I'm a bit of a geek :-p, I own a PS3, and I'm currently working out to go into the Air Force, unemployed you see :-(.

Looks like you have been around long enough to give some advice on 40K.

Yeah, I usually give more advice than I actually play. In painting and modeling I often focus more on doing favors for my friends then actually working on my own army and when I do actually paint something, I'm never happy with it. Then I procrastinate for a few weeks, paint another mini, hate it, and I keep repeating the process. Then when I actually sit down to play a game I'm embarassed by my unpainted minis, lol. I've done a few pain in the neck conversion with my Eldar, like converting those old metal wraithlords, converting metal warlocks on bikes, etc. but I can't seem to get myself to paint :-\
