I was reading the Nid Codex and was reading about the Doom... Inspired by its sheer awesomeness I looked throughout the Ork Codex for something similar. Alas I find Wazdakka...

For the starters, for twice the points he is modified T6. Meaning it take 3 wounds to kill him unless you bring out the S10. Like the Doom, Wazdakka commonly has a 3+ save against shooting (you are turboboosting right?). In addition Bolters wound on 6s...

The Main purpose of the Wazdakka is to hunt tanks by himself, 4 S8 shots at an effective range of 48" in addition to 5 S9 attacks when he assaults a vehicle. If he is by himself, he has move through cover and skilled rider.

I was wondering what the community thinks...

Wazdakka can be pretty useful. I've seen him take out a Warhound in CC, but you shouldn't rely solely on his Dakkacannons, as remember they are only BS2, but they can be fired even if he moves Flat Out, so he can zip round to the rear armour and let loose with his cannons.

I had spent some time thinking about how to use Wazdakka, but it never occured to me to run him solo. I think that'd be really viable, actually. I might just have to pick one up. The addition of Bikers to my horde would provide further saturataion and some flexiblity it is so drasticly lacking. It might make me play them again.

I thought about running him with my Battlewagon list... This way my opponent has to devote S10 shots at Wazdakka or lose a lot of vehicles...

You're really onto something DarkHound.

120 Boys
2 squads of bikers that count as troops.
Wazdakka and a KFF mek
Deffkoptas for fast attack.
Maybe throw in some Lootas and Snikrot.
Exclude all vehicles.

Between the KFF, warbikes as screens, and terrain it would be very easy for everything to have a cover save to the point I would call the list every bit as competitive as a kan wall.
T4/T5 target saturation would be excellent, and the list would completely vehicle free.
In a tournament setting the combination of target saturation, cover, and wasted points opponents spend anti vehicle weapons like melta guns or lascannons would make the list very competitive against most armies.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I often use a lone Warboss like this. Solo on a bike they are like missiles which strike at 6STR 10 attacks. Wazzdakka doubles the effectivness with his bike rules and kustom dakka guns.
The backfire is that no matter what, it's not that hard to kill a single ork unit.

I use Tankbustas instead of Lootas. Lootas are vulnerable to backfield clearers, while Tankbustas are not. I've got a few Kommando models, but I've never really used them, I just painted them up. But yeah, I've got the Koptas, Boyz, Tankbustas and Nobs. I'll just to pick up a KFF Mek and a Battleforce or two for more Boyz and some bikes. Smash the Trukks into my AoBR Warboss and make him a nasty peice of speedy death. Instead of a bike, more like a rokkit propelled ATV with treads and guns and armor plating... Yeah, that'd be cool...

I've fought against him with my nids and Tau in the last week. Against nids he ate mid level bugs for 3 turns until he got too close and was able to hug with my trygon prime, however he killed a unit of Hive Guard, Zoenthropes, and 2 warriors in the turns he was on the table. He was ran solo.

2nd game against Tau, he attached him to a bike squad, to avoid the markerlight+ Broadside death. First two turns, he dropped vehicles and then the rest of the units were in range started working on battle suits. With out the transport speed, I couldn't claim enough objectives to win.

We are going for round 3 tonight and I'm bringing Daemons.

This is what I was thining:

Wazdakka Gutsmek 180
Big Mek, KFF, Kustom Megablasta, BP, 105
15 Tank Bustas, 3 Bomb Squigs, 180
30 Slugga Boyz, Nob, PK, BP, 220
30 Slugga Boyz, Nob, PK, BP, 220
30 Slugga Boyz, Nob, PK, BP, 220
5 Warbikers, Nob, PK, BP, 165
3 Deffkoptas, TL-Rokkits, 135
1500

The Big Mek is leading the unit of Tankbustas, adding another S8 shot. The rest of the Slugga Boyz will have outpaced the KFF by about turn 3, which is the turn they'd be in close combat anyway.

Wait, if you run him solo doesn't that make him vulnerable to hydra's? what's his save when not turbo-boosting?

If there are things that threaten him, there are Bikers he can run with. Usually there won't be, so I don't think its an issue.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

I think its an interesting idea. if I didn't need both Ghazghkull and a big mek in all my lists, I'd try him on. ><

I may very well be wrong (don't have my book available at work), but can't you only turboboost once in a game?

Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Anything is possible when you think before you comment or post.

I'm on a computer.

No, you could Turbo-boost every turn if you wanted to.

And unlike other units, he can fire while Turboboosting.

Warbikers are a very interesting unit, and with them being scoring, I could see a base warbike army being very viable. I want to try it, but the problem I see is that I can't afford 20-25 warbikes (I already have some) to actually make it hum.
