Hey guys, nice to meetcha all. Waaagh and all that.

I played Gorkamorka many years ago... it was the game that got me into Games Workshop games actually. Had a Grot mob, which I still have and am planning to strip and repaint some day. I have a pretty basic Gorkamorka Ork collection which is pretty much just what came in the box plus a Nob and Nazgrub Wurrzag. I never really got to play Gorkamorka very much... think I only ever played my brother... but it was good fun, certainly had lots of character. I wish I had my brothers' old Diggas but I have no idea where they ended up.

I want to say bloody good job to the people who have made the http://gorkamorka.co.uk/ site - I'll be following it with interest. I do still have a bit of written material for Gorkamorka. GW have posted Da Roolz and Da Uvver Book on their website, which is very nice of them, but I also have the Digganob book and a few White Dwarves with Gorkamorka articles, plus the Gubbinz mag (there's a copy of that online already, linked from the UK site). I'm happy to make a list of the articles I have and I can scan them if people would like, although it'll probably take me a while to get round to it. I live in Auckland, New Zealand so if anyone is from there they should get in touch.

I've got about 1,000 points of 40K Orks, not counting my Gorkamorka models as they are a bit too weedy. I'm about to buy the Battleforce so that will be a nice addition. Orks are awesome, I haven't actually played many games with them so I'm not sure how they perform in battle but they sure have character coming out the wazoo.

Um yeah that's about it I guess. I notice someone is selling some Gorkamorka stuff on Ebay UK including the two Grot vehicles, the postage would probably rule it out for me but one of you UK chaps should have a look.

Welcome to DakkaDakka. If you use your Gorkamorka models, be sure to be a bit generous with LoS and cover, especially with those buggy-sized 'trukks'. Otherwise, no one should have a problem with you using them.

Welcome! Gorkamorka was a good game, like Necromunda but more light hearted and goofy (it was very rare for an ork character to die), and with vehicles. I remember my favourite ork who ended up with a double squig brain transplant by mistake after two seperate visits to the dok. It wouldn't have been so bad, but he was originally supposed to go in for a leg injury.

I registered here just to reply and say thanks for the compliments. I'm one of the team behind the site and have passed on your message to the others - messages like this mean a lot to us, we're doing it for the love after all!
There's plenty of stuff coming to the site and we post new stuff as often as we can. Work on our expansion pack is coming along nicely, although the pace may need to be upped if we're going to lose Google Wave in the near future (our main collaboration tool).

We've been doing our best to get hold of as much old material as possible and there's probably a few WDs we haven't got. We're also hunting for old Citadel Journals with GoMo articles in them.

Awesome, I'll make a list of the ones I have soon. Although now I think about it, most of the articles probably ended up in Gubbinz anyway. But I'll PM you about it when I've checked my collection.

There's always google... But gorkamorka was an excellent specialist game that focussed on rival warbands of orks.

*BUMP*

I found my old White Dwarfs. I actually don't think there's too much of there of interest for Gorkamorka but I do have: issues 214, 215 and 222

214 was the release issue for Gorkamorka, and had lots of advertising for the game, a battle report, a card terrain piece, and a "Collecting a Mob" article with a very introductory bent.

215 follows the exploits of the mob from the "Collecting a Mob" article, "Markus' Fort" (see page 29 of Gubbinz), and a few vehicle conversions which look pretty silly compared to some of the things these days.

222 has a battle report with the then-new Mutie models.

That's all I've got and I don't suppose any of its much use to anyone *sigh*

Most of them we've already found, but not all of them!

We got hold of that article a little while ago - a PDF can be found here.

I don't think anyone at tUGS has that issue, scans would be good (300 DPI for preference).

polksta wrote:222 has a battle report with the then-new Mutie models.

Sorry to say that we got to that one too, hehe. It can be found here.
