I was Reading through an old White dwarf, having recently found an interest in planetstrike I started Reading away at phill kellys do or don'ts, I turned over the page and read the New Planetstrike Stratagems and came across an orky one I'd love to share!

Orks:
It's raining orks
stratigem points-1
when declared-attackers movement phase

-frustrated by the high wall of the enemys strongholds and unable to get through their defences, some orks simply result to flinging themselves out of ork aircraft landing in the middle of enemy lines.

-deepstrike 1x D6+2 orks equiped with slugga and choppa anywhere on the board, any of these deep striking maniacs that end up on top of enemy units do not mishap, enstead they found as having charged into that unit, but are inititive 10 for that turn, they are placed where they land, these freefalling ork groups count as a single squad and may not join any other units.

I find this orky and hilarious, what do you guys think?

On a boat, Trying not to die.

If they fall out of the sky, they might need to take a DT test.

Lol, more of a mishap test though, I just like the idea of a lot of orks jumping out of an aircraft to their doom

I'd like to see it in the standard codex, it seems like the most orkish thing to do with aircraft.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

The true orky thing to do would be to crash the aircraft into the mob of enemies

Having drop pods that are also airstrikes? I'm sorry but you forget that the golden rule explicitly forbids anyone from one-upping Space Marines!

Deepstrike the wreck onto the field

Enemies get hit by str4 ap 6 hit? orks inside take a str 3 hit? Place them in melee with the unit you just crashed into?

...would anyone else happily pay 80-100 (battlewagon worthy) points for such shenanigans? Hell if it could take a full mob of 30 I'd pay 300 points for such shenanigans

Runnin up on ya.

"I'm tired of these muther ------- orks on this muther ------- plane!"

I guess that's why you only get a d6+2, they're the only ones that made it.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

they probably do that anyway after some orkies jump, (that's probably why they jump!)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
MekanobSamel, it comes from White dwarf WD360 p37, there is a pritty good nid one aswell:

Tyranids
defence stratigem: the Ariadne effect
stratigem points: 3
when declared: pre-game

(fluff basicly states they dig deep underground and enter a near death hibernation state, life eater virus cannot detect nids in this state, I would've put the actual fluff but it's 4 paragraph long-a lot! )

all defending tyranid units get a 2+ coversave against the attackers firestorm bombardement

I hate to drag up an old thread but I've been recently going through my old white dwarfs and rulebooks looking for the "It's Raining Orks" strategem because I remember using it and loving the hilarity but I cannot seem to find the rule now. Can anyone tell me where I can find the rule? What White Dwarf it may be in so I can narrow my search?

"Are we going to scrap about it now. Argue which Legion is the toughest?"
"The answer always is, the Wolves of Fenris," Torgadon put in. "Because they're clinically insane."

Ah didn't occur to me to reference the later post about the tyranid strategem, oops, thanks for the quick reply!
