Cue a torrent of abuse proving me wrong.

Anyway, I'm Nick I've recently been getting back into wargaming following a layoff of several years in which I focussed more on model railways (which are even more expensive and time consuming than wargaming). Now I'm back I'm learning both 40k and Fantasy, the release of 8th ed seemed like an ideal time to get involved again. Shortly afterwards I caved in and started 40k too. After a mere 3 months I have 3 armies on the go.

If anyone here is a regular at the Norwich GW you'll probably already know me as the guy leading the Tale of Many Gamers or that nutter with the bearded ginger Dark Elf.

I suppose I'd better keep this brief and five you lot a run down of the various project I've got on the go.

Fantasy:

2000pt Dark Elves: fully painted aside from a Bolt Thrower, an Assassin and the eye's of nearly every miniature (I can't paint eyes). This army way built for the Tale of Many Gamers the Norwich GW is running, think WD style Tales of 4 Gamers with more competitors. The eventual goal of the comp is for everyone to have a fully painted 2000pt army, I'm nearly there and have 2 weeks to finish the few remaining models.

Got a few ogre's too but I don't particularly like the way the army plays so probably won't do much beyond use them for painting practice.

40K:

500pt Daemonhunters: Not much to speak of really waiting for the rumoured new codex/plastics before I go further.

900pt Thousand Sons: This is my main 40k project and will shortly be taken up to 1000pts once I grab a pair Rhino's, Only got the HQ choice built so far but I've got a pair of TS squads and a Defiler waiting for me. Not planned the next 500/1k points yet but I'm sure I'll start having ideas soon, only problem I'm having is figuring out which choices are fluffy for a TS army. I'll probably start a plog for this army since I've only just started work on it. As a teaser here's a pic of my lightly converted DP.

I'll get some better photos once I've finished the greenstuffing.

But yes, if you avoid the afore-mentioned quagmire, you might be able to maintain that illusion a little longer

I've only been here for like 6 months but so far all friendly. its true that the off topic threads are full of random arguments but then why bother with them - we came here to talk about gaming and modelling. If anyone does slag you off and it isn't just a joke then they shall be cast into the fiery pits of khorne.

Ah that would explain why we've not encountered each other I tend to avoid the planetstrike tables as it seems to be 90% arguments and 10% gaming. IG doesn't exactly narrow things down though as there are several IG armies most Thursdays. We should bump into each other this Thursday though as IIRC it is a planetstrike evening, you probably know me on sight as the tall fat ginger guy.

Welcome. Don't listen to the neigh sayers. Dakka is filled with lovely people, whose generous nature is only beaten by their urge to make jovial and light hearted discussions about everything and anything. There are no trolls here, and no people who take pleasure in dissecting peoples statements and rearranging them to make the statement sound stupid!

Honest.
