Next up is some of da regular boyz, just wanted some basic nurgley stuff on these so they wouldnt stand out to much and so they wouldnt be such a pain in the ass to model since i will need alot of them
Here they are:
And a Nob to lead them:
And last but not least the stand in trukk for my boss and his meganob retinue, again i didnt want something mechanical so i bought the new stegadon and im gonna make a trukk sized squiggoth from it.
This is a very early wip but i thought id show it to you and if you have any ideas on it let me know, i need all the help i can get with it. Im gonna use parts from 2 trukk kits and the battle wagon to make the armor, weapons and loadingspace on it.
Here it is:
C&C is always welcome!
/Shockwave
Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks Scazza! ive been looking alot at both yours and PDHs necromunda threads and i must say i love your rastagangers! Awsome idea and models and i also love the scavvy you made from the grot, i might have to steal that idea
Anyways i forgot here are some more of the bases i made for my boyz:
I also have a wirdboy that ive started working on, as you see i have trouble finnishing one project so i jump between the different ones i have going on But anyways ill see if i can get some pics up on him tonight or tomorrow.

thanks alot Rose! yeah Qorbin is a great modeler and painter and him and me play regurlarly. I dont think ill put the cities of death board in a separate thread, feels better to have everything gathered in one place
To give some further info on the board for those interrested it will be a 6X4 modular board depicting an abandoned, overgrown imperial city. The buildings and terrain will be placed on small 20X20cm, 40X20cm and 40X40 cm hardboard pieces for maximum modularity and the best possible look (im not a huge fan of having a board and placing the terriain on it, its so hard to get it looking good with terrain bases). We have already bought almost everything we need except some more of GWs terrain kits, still need one shrine of aquila, 2 honoured imperium kits and a landing pad but that will be fixed next month, we will still have a very good start. Other than that we only need some aqaurium plants
We will also be building a special table for the board as soon as i find something suitable as a base for it.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Yeah Jackanory youre right, ooh i might have to watch that for some inspiration now. Thanks for mentioning it

Wicked. I'll be sticking my face in here on a regular basis. Really looking forward to seeing some paint on them.
Your burna boy's tank fits perfectly. What did you use to make that tank?
I cannot state just how much i like this bad boy. The pose is perfect. Is that face mask a conversion? Finally found a model that tentacle doesn't look massively big on.
I might be jumping the gun but boy oh boy your weird boy is weird. Now i really like that idea.
Thank you for sharing.

I forgot to comment on the awesome bases. Shockwave awesome bases! I don't think I could ever go to that effort for an ork army.

wow guys thanks for all the positive comments, didnt really expect such a great response, it really warms me modelling heart Especially the "awsome sauce with a dash of epic spice"
And im glad you like them PDH, i must say i really love your scavvies to, they look damn awsome! As for the tentacle arm, my friend Qorbin gave it to me and i thought what the hell its the same size as an ork arm so lets stick it on there for a simple conversion but i really think it turned out great, also that head is not a conversion, its one of the heads from the burnaboy kit.
Also the tank on my burnaboy is made from a piece of plasticardtubing and the tankbustamines you get with alot of the ork kits
Im glad you like the weirdboy to, the body is from a confrontation elemental of darkness which i had lying around so i thought i would be perfect for a weirdboy cause with all that waaagh energy they have in them and if daddy nurgle decides to pinch in something damn weird is bound to happen to you
For all you who havent seen him in my gallery here is an early wip on my weirdboy, obviously there is a ton of greenstuffing to do on him but once again you get the general idea
Sorry for the blueness of some of the pics.
As always C&C is always appreciated.

OKay... these models are GREAT.
Kudos to you. I'll be watching your progress closely.
One change I'd make is on your Weirdboy. I'd change the angle of the head, so he's looking at the sky. The pose & head look like he's screaming -almost- in agony. Making he head face the sky will enhance that effect.
Otherwise, I'd spin the head to look at his left hand. Being the higher of the hands, it's more of a focal point. Having the MODEL looking at the left hand will only enhance this effect.
Hope that helps!
Eric

Wow thanks again for all the positive feedback
Hehe im glad to see that you missed me Ghosty
Crimsonmicc: ill look into that, but this time i think its was the bad weather plus the grey table and blue background that made the pics kinda blueish but ill definantly keep that in mind
Thanks for the kind words Eric, i will try and change the pose of the head on the weirdboy to see if it will enhance the effect like you said, the reason i put it like i did was because with the pose and flow of the model it kinda felt like the natural way to position the head. I think it looks like hes charging into something ready to unleash a burst of flames
Zoomdakkadakka: Yes those are quite simple conversions on my boyz i think :S the average worktime on a boy is between 10-15 minutes. Not that i want to sound like im better than anyone else or some sort of uberpro at this its just that ive done so many conversions, and especially nurgle things that that kind of stuff has become really simple for me, its all a matter of practice just wait until you see the possesed dreadnought im working on or the rivertroll to meganobz that im trying to figure out how to do, now those are gonna require some serious effort.
Well now im off to work on some more of da boyz, im gonna try to finnsh my boyz unit until sunday.
Expect updates later tonight or tomorrow

I can see why you'd be looking to go that route.
Looking at the model further, I'm going to back off of my previous advice SLIGHTLY.
Don't have him looking at the sky. Have him looking "up." Yeah. There's a differince. : )
By "up," I'm speaking in relation to his torso. So, *IF* his torso was upright, he'd be looking straight up at the sky. Since it isn't, though... he's looking at about a 45 degree angle.
That make sense?
Line his chin up with his sternum, and make him tilt his head all the way back.
I think you'll like that more than the "charging in" look you're going for, because his body isn't really a "charging" body... it's a kind of "writhing and flowing" body.
I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Ok yeah ill try that, i just did some work on him and i tried repositioning the head but i wasnt quite happy with it so ill try your suggestion and see what it looks like, i also finished 3 more boys today, or almost finished them, there is some minor gs work to be done but i have to wait for the first layer to cure. I also finished the last 2 boars so tomorrow im gonna try and finish a rider so i can get some feedback on that, so expect more pictures tomorrow.
Oh and i also got my shipment of liquitex texturepaint, tamiya clear colours and rust pigment colours today so its gonna be real fun experimenting with those once i start painting

Haha yeah looking at him again it actually looks like hes singing And about the greenstuff, i must say that alot of it lies in having good tools, i use a very wide variety of tools when i sculpt but one set of tools that you cnat live without are the clayshapers, they are a sculptors best friend, they make the job so much easier. If you want i can take a picture of the tools i use?
Anywho heres a small update for today, i did 3 more boyz yesterday, nothing fancy and theres still some greenstuffing to do on them but i thought id show them to you anyways, i also finished the last 2 boars for my unit and did some minor greenstuffing on my weirdboy and repositioned his head slithly so let me know what ya think
Here are da pics:
Dont know if you can see it that well but i took some old scaven tails and drilled some holes in him to make it look like a huge worm was crawling through him
Dont know if im all to happy with this one, it doesnt really scream nurgle to me, butt ill just have to see after some more greenstuff and with a couple of shoulderpads on him.
This last one turned out quite nicely, the tentacle really fits the model me thinks
Heres one of the new boars:
And last but not least the Weirdboy:
As Always C&C is greatly appreciated
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh and i forgot, i was thinking of adding skaventails to the weirdboys head to look like some kind of tentacle dreadlocks, what do you guys think of that?

Congratulations on your work, as someone mentioned I hadn't seen your scavvy thread but I'm glad I can catch up by now!!!
I liked the simple yet characterful names you had found for them, you should post the new ones!!!
Each ganger is really different from the other, yet they are unmistakingly part of the same team!!! Great work!!
I especially like "Rats" and the plasma wielder...
As for the Norks, they're great as well!!
The gasmask-themed ornaments look really good!! My only "concern", if there can be any, is the statement that they wouldn't use too many mechanical contraptions... I'm not a big fan of the Squiggoths, and I think some Nurgled, rusty Trukks would be a nice addition! But it's just my point anyway, your call's what matters in the end uh...
