Oh my goodness...
I just wonder if they meant to pay that much, or if 2 people foolishly said - I really want that, therefore I'll put in a massive bid that I know will beat everyone?
Note that the next bid down was "only" £500 or so.
Ouch - I hope they like it!

Why is this particular mini so ludicrously expensive though? Is it *really* that rare to justify the price or is this more a case of ebay internet warriors not thinking with their wallet?

You'd have to pay me that much to pin that metal monstrosity. Congratulations to anybody that has one of these lying around though. I love how GW stuff can really appreciate in value.

Hey I had one of those but I shot it to pieces with an airsoft gun!! Jokes. I mean no offence but who would pay £1990 for that? It is a beastly model I will give you that and I would pay happily £50-£60 for it. However It was probs made b4 I was born making it ancient so I guess I understand. But hey what a lucky guy...

I don't think those are worth nearly as much, I sold one a few years ago for about £40. But Chaos Dwarves have taken a surge in interest in recent times, I had a couple of the figure in the picture at the top of the thread loose without their war machines, they are called boar centaurs. The two of them sold for £35, I was stunned.

I can't see the pic, as it's blocked by my proxy. When I saw the price and the title of the thread, I thought this was about a Chaos Dwarfs ARMY.
Has somebody paid that amount for a SINGLE mini?
OMG, would any pure soul please comment what's the name of the mini so I can search in Google images for a similar one?

Wow that's a big mini, pretty impressive if it is as old as I think it is. I never saw it Spain, so I guess it's older than 4th WFB ed. But still that's a lot of cash
Thanks for the pics!

Yes. It wasn't widely available and there were never rules for it, so very few were sold. Its widely considered one of those models GW was embarassed of. So it is a bit of a collectors piece. These only come up very rarely.
I'd just like to point out that not all Chaos Dwarf pieces go ridiculous in price, but to alot of the hardcore Chaos Dwarf collectors this is a real centerpiece model. On Chaos Dwarf Online they keep a chart of the going rate of Chaos Dwarf models.

Interesting build on the cart/tower. The centaur looks too goofy. I'm wondering how much this weighs!

The centaur is ment to be pushing it along ..it has 2 cannons in the base and could hold a crew of chaos dwarf crossbowmen upstairs ..so it cant weigh too much or he would never be able to push it though all that late 80s flock ! lol
