Hello guys, this was some of the first minis i ever painted. They are Nobs, and they are hell fun to paint...

As they are my second and my fourty painted minis, i want some opinions on them: they are good? They are horrendous? Should i try a bit more and throw myself to a golden demon? Should im throw my paints and pencils aways and start to learn crochet?

Here the pics (sorry for the brightness, my camera is a little weyrd, and the macro only work properly with the flash on...)

The 2nd mini i ever painted

The 4rt one

The first one was so horredouns that i just started to repaint it today. The third one i give to a friend, and could not take a photo of it...

So, leave some opinions for a Noob...

you should use washes now to fill in some of the gaps.

They look good so far but they would benefit greatly from a good wash, black wash on the metal areas and either black or brown on every thing else. That would give the recesses some shadowing then you can add a little highlighting to the raised areas and edges.

Devlan mud is your friend...buy lots and use it on pretty much every ork you have

That said, they are LOADS better than my first mini's, so congrats

I agree with every one on here that washes will help give you a better table top mini. Apply a black wash to pretty much everything. Then go over them again with the base colors to pick out raised areas. Give the weapons a brush and you have a very acceptable mini.

Also good job on your first ones.

Thank guys!!! I will do as you say... =D

My only problem is that i dont have any washes nearby... I am trying to do my own "home made version". I was using a mixture of water and black paint for it, using a 2-1 ratio. Today i tried another "aproach" on another mini.
I was mixing water and paint on a glass table, counting drop per drop, today i just filled a small pot with 1/4 of black paint and completed with water. The result was a lot darker, and i am waiting it to dry and try the highlitgh.

th, the models are a lot darker, but the crazy camera dont work without the flash...

The paint looks really thick. I don't mean that they are dipped in paint but paint is thick enough to leave brush strokes visible.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Yea, it does look like you could thin down your paints (a little water, like your doing, but not nearly as much) will fix your problem.

As far as a wash, use a squirt of dish soap, fill a bottle about quarter to half way, then put a few drops of paint in there until it looks like the wash you want. Its not perfect for for a do it your self with nothing around it works really well. Shake the hell out of the mix then you have strait mix, or bubbles of soapy paint for other things.

In your thread, trolling.

Pretty nice.

Here is a suggestion to improve your overall painting detail. For their skin, start applying lighter green to the raised parts on the muscles. Like this:

Thin the Metal paints work in the same way? I really like the effect that a silver drybrushing leave on a black undercoart, but that is like hell to do details later...
