basically, i really really really really liek the look of this model :

And was wondering, does anyone have any ideas of how i would be able to change it into a SM, or an Eldar?
realistically, an Eldar would be much much easier.

I basically want it to make it so it can fit in with some painte 40k models. i dont play it, so you dont have to worry about rules

any ideas appreciated, cheers!

Other then adding on some 'power lines' to the sword I have no idea. Throw on some tactical marine shoulder pads?

He is a metal model and without some extensive filing, and green stuff work I am afraid that you will not be able to turn him into an SM without it looking wonky or atleast just a Wood Elf with a backback. Sorry it would be a waste of time and money.

i was thinking, also possibly Eldar, which would be more possible.

Space Marine? I don't think it'd be possible to make him not look out of place, he'd require so much work that he'd barely resemble the original model which kind of negates the point.

I think Eldar would be do-able since Eldar are basically elves anyway. No idea what he could be though, not that familiar with them.

Remove the bow and arrows, add spirit stones and other eldary things, and you should be good.
If you want to make things complicated, you could try replacing the head with a helmeted version.

He would have to be a exodite eldar.

But it is doable.

You probably don't have to do to much. Just remove the bow and arrow if it already comes on him or if it is separate don't it on. Don't have him on that log. I'm guessing it comes on the model so if you can try and remove it and glue him on a round 40k base. If you are good with green stuff try and put a spirit stone on the middle of his chest and if you notice on eldar they usually have gem shapes on their armour, like one on each wrist, but it this case you can only see one wrist so put it only the one. I'm guessing you already have an eldar army so just paint the same scheme as you would with your army and it should look great as an eldar farseer or maybe (I know you don't play the game) a count-as prince yriel. Good luck!

so it turns out that the Bow and Arrow is on his back already:

How would i go about removing it? 'cause a file would take a hell of a long time, and a craft knife would be unable too..

Dremel Tool, normally. Otherwise, a metal saw might work. If it's small enough, clippers (Not the sissy GW ones) maybe, if you don't mind GSing the rough cuts.

Are you gonna remove the log thing he's standing on as well. I am not to sure how you would remove the bow and arrow, maybe you could some how use green stuff over top if it and make something like a flag or a shuriken pistol or a another sword on his back, if you are gonna remove the log it shouldn't be to hard with an xacto knife because usually there isn't much metal in between the feet.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Actually now that I think of it the feet might be at different angles I can't really tell in the picture, if so maybe you could put him on a rock or something like that.

models like this i use as an exarch, farseer, warlock or autarch. Usually better as a warlock or exarch otherwise you may never use them (if you actually play)

As said above, bow and arrow need to go. Use some of the tools like a dremel. If you can't do this sort of modification then best to just paint and put on a shelf i guess?

As an autarch you could add some wings or some sort of backback to simulate the warp spiders. I like my autarch's to have a gun and sword though.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

This image shows that the head and bow is completely separate to the head - allowing for a much easier problem solver.

the arrow-holder(name? ) can be chopped off, filed, and the end of a boltgun, or rifle or Eldar weapon glued on the end.

the bow, im confused as to what to do? ideas?

Great model !!

To 40K it (stick with going ELDAR with it) :

1. Remove it from the log and base it on some scrap "metal" like the plastic Cities of Death Tank Trap, Barrel or something similar.
2. Dremel off the Bow but,
3. Keep the Quiver ... only lop off the fletching (feathers) of the arrows.
4. Use the quiver as a holster for an Eldar Rifle.
5. Add some Eldar Soul Gems
6. Maybe give his eye a bionic lense with some thin wire to tuck behind his ear.
7. Photo and share your results with us

Goood luck !!

I have an Exodite army, so I'll field this one! The Exodites are the Eldar who, before Slaanesh's birth, became disgusted with their brethern's behaviour and left their realm, travelling out into the stars to settle new worlds. Thus Exodites (from the word Exodus, meaning to travel as a large group). The Exodites are mentioned in the current 40k Eldar book I believe. They settled new planets, and instead of using an infinity circuit like the Craftworld Eldar, they gave their souls to the planet by "uploading" the spirit stones into great monolith circles across the planet. The various civilisations on the Exodite worlds range the gamut from Eldar obsessively caring for ancient weapons, those who never lost the ability to create new ones, to ones who have abandoned all technology and rely instead on the aid of the native animal species and primitive weapons. They have a reputation for being in jungle areas, but really there's no reason not to have desert Exodites, ice Exodites, temperate environment Exodites (oak forests are what I use), as well as tropical.

The only thing I would note, is that this model is on a square base, and all things 40k are on round bases. So invest in one of those. They look better anyway!

He's make a sweet Autarch with Power Weapon. With a bit of work, you could make a Prince Yriel out of him.

We have that mini in our D&D box and I love it too.

you can keep the log, i think in 40k there are tons of battles in woodlands so the log isnt the issue, def if you base the base with enough 40k looking stuff. the main part would be how you paint it and getting rid of that bow.

also maybe try to make a bionic eye of some sorts, or get wire and make some little wires going from his sword to a backpack or some other machine?

Yeah a stone would work. Or if you are really up to the challenge you could make it a space marine head or another kind of head of some sort. I thought of another idea, you could make him a dark eldar. Just add some evil looking stuff and paint the skin pale and the armour dark.

Well the 'Diorama' i have decided to do is a combined goody force (SM, Tau, Eldar + another goody, maybe IG) agianst a horde of chaos. i know it would never happen, but its pretty nifty.

I hate painting Skin, so i may go for a pale look for the Character anyway.
