or THE DEFENDERS OF MANKIND

-Tanks
-Massive amounts of infantry
-A small elite force
-Assaults
-Shooting
-Artillery

Like revacky said it depends on what you want to play. You have different flavors of SMs which can play differently from others SMs. BTW this is more of a general discussion topic than intro. since you already created an intro thread.

Guard are indeed much more versatile, as they can make tank armies, horde armies, as well as veteran armies. But noone does assault better than BA.

welcome to dakkadakka! i would say both, that's what I do

I enjoy IG much more than BA at times but I think both are really great armies to play and it can be a hard choice

You can be like everyone else and play sheep marines, or go for gaurd. If you want to be really cool you could play Tau... ....Backwards

I am building a Blood angels army as well, except i'm not using mine for assaulting i know (: i don't like tons of jump packs, but id say IG they are fun to paint with a lot more options for customization, camo ideas, tank companies anything you could want.
