I'm looking for a cheap way to convert some DE raiders into venoms. The pic in the new codex shows the venom as basically a hybrid raider with the front end of an Eldar vyper. I've been racking my brain and can't come up with anything that might look decent without having to purchase $100+ of Eldar vypers to chop up.

Sorry if this is in the wrong location. I wasn't sure. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm thinking of the same idea, except that I'm thinking of taking a Vyper, removing the gun and DE-fying the crew, and adding some passengers from the Raider kit, essentially the models which hang off the hull. Hope that idea helps.

Wow, that's awesome, but my problem is a cash problem. I have the raiders, but don't want to purchase the same number of vypers to do the conversion with.

Reaver Jetbikes looks like it could fit the bill, and they come 3 per pack, making them alot cheaper than Vypers.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Interesting little vehicle, there....should be an interesting codex...
Anywho, perhaps going through a Bitz store might be an option? Pick up a Vyper off of somewhere like Ebay or The War Store to get a little bit of a discount, then check for the back railing and the back half of the vehicle on a bitz store. I can't imagine the conversion running more than $50.
Good luck!

I was looking at the reavers, but I think they will be too small and end up looking like a car towing a buss. I'll take a look at them and see what I can do. Thanks.

It says in white dwarf "when we get round to bringing out the venom model". So it seems like there will be a proper kit at some point. you could just use a normma raider as a "counts as" for the meantime.

Sweet. I hadn't read that at all. I'll use markers for the raiders to indicate which is which then since I've been mixing and matching. Thank you.
