not too bad...it can work. but id keep the council at what it is right now.

for your fire dragons id drop them. that should give you 160 to play with. now id drop the exarchs from your avengers and that should free up enough points to get you to 230. and use that 230 to get you 2 prisms. doing so will increase your anti tank and anti infantry, and not to mention increase the number of threats in your army so your council will last a bit longer.

other than that looks good

Isnt Blade Storm a must?

I was looking into prisms. Getting 2 in there does sound pretty amazing. What are you thoughts on war walkers against Prisms? I hear the walkers can put out a decent amount of fire power.

it usually is but if it comes to another tank or 10 extra shots every other turn, then id probably go for the tank. especially at this lvl when you start to get into facing tough units that 2 prisms can deal with easily.

and war walkers are fun...but really cant keep up with the rest of your army. and depending on your available points might not be worth it. most people just use scatter lasers or shuriken cannons on them to keep them cheap and maximize the number of shots they can make due to having a bs3. if you equip them with something like bright lances or missile launchers then they just arnt worth it.

Looks quite good.
I'd drop some destructors and give the Farseer both runes.

Question. Are the Fire Prisms going to be enough anti tank? The templates scare me a bit because nothing else other than my Seer council can pop armor. Just wondering if anyone has fielded the prisms and if so, how well do they work. Thanks guys.

To get both Runes, I would have to drop 3 Destructors. What do you guys think?

ya fire prisms work great as anti tank...just remember the small blast is only 3 inchs wide and s9 ap2. if its linked with another prims its shot is then twin linked. dont forget you also reduce the scatter distance by your bs4. with all that factored in you really need to roll an 8 or higher to miss your target, and doing that twice is even more unlikely. just make sure you move 12" before you shoot so if you get them stuck in combat your opponent will need 6s to hit.

and as far as shaving 6pts you might want to drop maybe one destructor from your council unless you find that you actually make all 6 destructors shoot quite a bit or maybe both spears

What is everyones thoughts on the Runes?

I'm sold on the Prisms. I think the core list looks pretty solid. Its just the fine tweaking. 3 Destructors looks sufficient dont you think? It would be nice not having to worry about failing the psychic test as well as shutting down other psychers.

if you have embolden then its very difficult to fail your psychic tests as it lets you re roll them...but if you can afford them then id get the runes that cause your opponnent to roll 3d6 for psychic tests (dont have codex on hand and cant remember what they were)

By the way, if you plan to take on Nids and charge the hive minded,
your jet council will need runes to counter their 'shadow'.

I just cant seem to fit the points. I really want bladestorm for my Dire Avengers and I already dropped 1 warlock from the seer council...I cant drop another.

I'm hoping this list works for a decent all comers list. I'm still not to sure. I would love to get some Fire Dragons in serpants, but i love the Prisms. At 1500 I'll prob put 5 Dragons in a Falcon, or a Serpant. Not to sure yet.

Hey guys, I just play tested this list and it seems as if its lacking fire power. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was thinking SL's on my Wave Serpants, or maybe even a squad of War Walkers. What do you think?

Which army were you playing against? The list "looks" on papaer to have enough firepower.

I was playing against Nids. It was also my first game with Eldar, so im sure my tactics weren't thats great. Would some Warwalkers in the place of the Council be worth it?

My high hopes for the council were pretty shattered that game haha. I have to do more play testing, but im just looking for some other thoughts.

I personally have never been a fan of the Council, and one of my friends that plays eldar swears by them.

What role were you employing the council to achieve?

They are mainly there to distract, pop armor, and i was hoping to bring down a MC.

I'm just not sure if their worth the points.

They always wound on 2's but armor saves are always allowed, so they aren't fantastic in CC. On Jetbikes they can catch armor and should be able to pop it with 12+ attacks on the charge, but after that the contents of the transport should eat them up.

The Council's weakness is small arms fire. A single squad of Dire Avengers will murder the council, because of the sheer number of wounds they can land on a T4 unit.

Maybe you should swap out the jetlocks for a FireDragon Serpent squad? More reliable tank hunting and they are dispendable. Or if you wish to go the CC route maybe some Striking Scorpions? Or banshees?

I think i want to stay away from CC with this army.

Fire Dragons are very very tempting. I'll have to play test some more to see what will really work. Do you think my List would have to much anti mech with the Dragons? I do have the Bright Lances as well as the prisms. War Walkers are extremely tempting too. Something like this maybe...

HQ:
Farseer
-Guide
-Doom
-Spiritstones
-Runes of Warding

Heavy:
3x War Walkers
6x Scatter Lasers

3x War Walkers
6x Scatter Lasers

Fire Prism

It seems like this would give me the shot volume without getting rid of to much anti mech. Thoughts?

There is no such thing as too much anti-tank

at 1250 points having more than on HQ is a bit much and removes from the versatility of your army.

Prisms are much better in pairs, the STR10 AP1 is almost a guaranteed pen against anything. And once you join two for a big str6 ap 3 pieplate, MEQ is crying. So swap the second Seer for another fire prism.

2 fire prisms or no fire prisms is the general rule.
Although its bland and very generic, I think your top list is better than the one you just posted. If you've only played 1 game with Eldar then you cant really dismiss a list as not being good. Its not like orks where you can throw 30 men to get shot to pieces and not really feel the impact, or how you can drop a tactical squad out and expect it to be alright whatever happens. You really have to get used to playing eldar, if you make a mistake you'll find yourself outgunned or slaughtered in combat, get it right and it can work perfectly (and that takes a LOT of practice).
