I've been a slave to my CSM for ever and have a regular opponent who has turned to the darkside. He has begun to field a CSM army of his own now!
This is where it gets tricky. He fields a huge amount of daemons.
2 x 6bloodletters
1 x 20bloodletters
1 x Skarbrand
1 x Daemon Prince

all summoned...

Needless to say by the third turn all my units have been assaulted and are dead or in combat. Fielding Zerkers is pointless now as they are the first to get eaten (I know! Their blood too is welcome). So what should I do?

The issue lies in whether he is fielding a CSM army with Daemon Army allies or is he fielding a Daemon army with CSM allies. As there are no official ally rules he's just pasting me by playing a CSM army with summoned Daemons from the Daemons Army codex! That's 96 power weapons!!!!!!!!

The CSM summoned Daemons are wimps compared to the Daemon Codex chaps... depending on the details of the situation here it sounds like your being cheated!

If hes using Daemon Codex as allies he must play half his force on the table from turn one meaning that you can use your marines to whittlke them before they get to close. He can not summon them all through reserve rolls!

If he is using the CSM rules to summon them but using Daemon Codex stats hes cheating ou!

Hopefully you can resolve this without sacrificing him to the blood god, but if he keeps it up add his skull to the skull throne!

Good Luck though...

Make him play either the CSM codex or codex daemons, not a crossbreed. If he won't do that, tell him to feth off.

going by the rules, your mates list is illegal. In a CSM army you can only field "Lesser Daemons" and "Greater Daemons". Nowhere in the rules for Chaos space marines does it say you can take allies from the chaos daemons codex (or the other way around)

If he's playing C:CSM's then all his deamons are pretty poor (greater daemons are good sometimes, but lessers aren't), The daemon prince will not have access to all the upgrades and daemonic gifts in the Codex: Chaos Daemons, Skarbrand isn't allowed at all.

If he's playing C:CD's then he can have any marines, tanks, lords, sorcerers ect and all his models should be entering from deep strike (not being summoned).

Make him play a legal army and you'll have more fun and hopefully he'll become a better player without having to relying on cheating (intentional or not )

As has been said and echoed before your buddy has an illegal list.....unless you agreed to play against the illegal list and know it is illegal..... then you are just SOL! Welcome to dak dak¡

Throwing myself into the same mix to say that yes, your friend is hosing you. Nowof course back in the day when you actually *could* bring deity-specific Daemons... *long rant about how 2nd Edition was so much better* ... and in closing, welcome to Dakka!!!
