If you're running a Tourney list do you have to attach your HQ to the same squad in every match?

Say I have a Farseer and for my first game I've attached him/her to my trusty Banshees - does that mean that for every game I must do the same?

No, they can be deployed entuirely independently.

Same for WOlf Guard splitting off, combat squad or not, and so on.

Of course, a TO could make a rule to do that, however I have never heard of any such rule....

If your runnig a tourney you can do whatever you want, but getting people to play in said tournament is a different story :p

Generally (from my experience) nosferatu is right though.

In the example given, no, you would not be required to keep them together for every game, as the unit composition with joined character is not a part of your army composition, it's an in-game effect of being in IC.


Characters with retinues, however, will have them for every game, as the character and the retinue form a single unit on your army roster.
