I am no slacking.... not at all... I am currently keeping quiet due to the intensive hobby work
I dunno if I am able to show a last WIP... probably more likely the finished entry... also... I think for my own stuff a vid might be useful on my behalf too, eh?^^

Glutton for punishment? You like putting yourself in a position where its literally "Oh man! Look at that! It looks amazing! The detail! The painting!" and then you turn and repeat the process with the next piece before being told "Okay, which is best?"

Viktor - those columns are available in pretty much any store that sells cake decorating supplies here in the US. I can't imagine they would be too difficult to find elsewhere, but I'm not much of a world traveller, so couldn't be certain.
If they truly are unavailable in Germany for some reason, I could probably be persuaded to pick up a few packages and ship them your way provided you cover the costs. (They are pretty cheap, about $5 US for a package of four in this size, and $3.50 for the shorter ones.)

Wilton is the brand name of those excellent columns. I riveted and skulled a couple and sent them to Galorn for mold-making, but he hasn't gotten to it yet (hint hint, win wink) I want to cast them in plaster specifically to break them into ruins.

So now I'm being stalked by a German. Not sure how to feel about that...
I did the columns upside down on purpose. I wondered if anyone would notice that. Always fun to put a little extra dystopia into your work. Remember, the AdMech doesn't really understand what they are doing, so little errors like this can creep into the design quite easily with nobody really understanding what's happening or why they do what they do.
Its like the 40K version of that story about the guy's wife who cut the ends off her pot roast. He asks her why, and she says "That's how my mother did it". They ask her mother why, and she says "That's how your grandmother did it". They go see grandma and ask her. "Oh," says grandma, "I didn't have a pot big enough, so the roast would only fit if I cut the ends off."

My silence has been a result of some fairly frantic painting.
I'm really impressed with many of the entries that I have seen so far and I wish you all the very best of luck.
@ Ambience 327: That is really impressive over such a short time span, very nice, reminds me of something I saw in a WD around when the Witchhunters codex was released.
Although I wouldn't say my entry is finished it has reached a point where I achieved the look that I set out for and I have run out of time through no fault but my own. I shall continue to add to the building (most notably the interior which I really want to make).
I'll post up the last WIP images that I made last weekend:
Ruglud will be recieving my entry shortly
Again best of luck to all of you who have entered
and a big thank you to Cam for a great competition.

Thank you everyone for your efforts in making this a great competition. The competition is now officially closed and Judging must commence. And I have to say it is going to be very very tough. Really glad I roped in some help.
The entries vary from a lone soldier wrapped against the rain to full habitats. Fantastic effort by all. I really can't say more.
THANK YOU
We will be with you as soon as possible and I am hoping that Ruglud can get a final entry posting going so we can see your magnificent work.
Thank you again too all, here we go Judges, this is where we earn our bacon.......

So here we go - the final entrants in one BIG post... We've picked out a selection of photos, but there are more to be seen in the galleries for each contestant (some in the Dakka gallery, some hosted off-site), so check 'em all out
ACHOO! Mills sniffed loudly and wrapped his blanket tighter around himself. This planet was miserable. Always raining. Permanent cloudy skies and a terrible wetness that permeated everything. Mills sighed and looked up and down the line. Everyone looked just as miserable as him. Huddled in groups shivering or moving about, trying to get the blood pumping.
He missed his home. A sunny Agri-world where the work was hard but the feeling of accomplishment was high. Here, on this drowning ball of mud... harder work for no accomplishment.
The fighting had ground to a stand still in the last day as the rain picked up. Aside from the occasional mortar, the rebels seemed to be as beaten by the weather as he was and everything slowed down. The worst was when the sun set and the chill set in. At least one person in his platoon froze to death in the night. He grew weary of sitting or kneeling and chose to lay down, never to rise again.
Mills leaned forward and peered up, looking around his makeshift tarp that had been cut from the charred remnants of a tent. The clouds seemed dark and angry. He sighed and sat back again. His mind dwelled on his home. Large fields of grain, gently swaying in the breeze, the sun on his face. He sighed and opened his eyes again and was greeted by the same dreary everything. Then, as he watched, the clouds parted briefly and the sun peered down through the clouds before being engulfed again. Mills smirked.
"There are worse places..." he muttered as he lowered his helmet and shut his eyes. At least here, in his little home away from home, he could get some well needed rest.
