Well then, I guess I'll go along with the rest of the sheeple and say Hi in the Hi forum. Hi.

Budding Ork player, been interested in and bumming bitz off friends for a couple years now, but never had the money to sink into the game.

Which leads to my primary goal in 40K: Make an Apokalypse-worthy army, for less than $100 American.

Playing Orks is definitely gonna help there, and the fact that I have a game-legal, 1500 pt army for less than $40? Yeah, I think I can do this.

current Available List:

HQ:
MegaBoss, vanilla. Can double as Ghazzy in a pinch (got the size and the tusks.)
Big Mek, KFF (before I knew how competitive kff was, even)

Troops:
Deff Dredd x4 DCCW
10 shootaboyz, 1 rokkit.

Elite:
5x Nobz, individualized for allocation
4x Meganobz, and counting. 1 kombirokkit and 1 kombiscorcha

Heavy Support:
Deff Dredd x2 KMB
4.5x Killa Kanz (one can double as a deffkopta) w/KMB
Battlewagon w/ Deffrolla
Battlewagon w/ Killcanon, Kannon

Superheavy:
Stompa, basic. Could be a slasha-stompa by the rules of the Gargant Owna's Club.

Totally agree with the above - bulk out those Boyz! Shop around for some second hand ones - or some AOBR ladz - usally get some good deals on them. You don't want your boyz to feel lonely! Can't wait to see steampunk orks though - looking forward to the pictures!

Well, thanks for all the welcomes!

Unfortunatly, there won't be many (if any) pics for a while, since I'm no great shakes with a digital camera, and the camera I do have is ancient. (though perhaps I might be able to use my scanner?) I'd love to post WIPs of my stuff, but like I said, no way to get pics of them onto my computer.

And yeah, I've heard that I need More Dakkaladz, but once again, that's usually the most expensive part of an Ork army. The ten I do have are actually AoBR sluggas that I got, buck-a-boy, so the were pretty cheap, but it's takin' a bit to turn them sluggas into shootas, 'specially since noplace around where I live carries plasticard or Greenstuff. I've been using skulpy, cardboard, old pens, and gratuitous amounts of superglue, along with Bitz I bummed off friends.

I might start checkin' out eBay, though, see just how cheap da boyz are there. That's really been my biggest need, is the heads and bodies, or rather, the heads and legs. (bodies are simple enough to sculpt.)

I second checking out ebay but dont forget about our swap shop. Theres also a huge amount of people willing to part with there orks thats if you dont mind using a little elbow grease. Just be sure to ask for pics if assembled or painted so you know what you are getting. Also welcome to dak dak¡

So the swap shop is that useful, is it? I'll have to check it out, then.

And honestly, as long as it's shaped about the right way, I don't care what's been done to it. I'm gonna chop it up and mod it anyways, and I plan to paint everything myself, too.
