It's just that I posted a 2500 point Planetstrike attacking Tyranid lst.....AND NOBODY WAS INTERESTED.

Here's the army, if anyone would be kind enough to rate it:

Sadly, I don't think Planetstrike was ever in favor, because it was always a one sided battle-I read the rules and asked my buddies to play and I wanted to use daemons: they looked at the rules and promptly refused to ever play a game. Deep Strikers being able to attack the turn they deep strike and the fact that technically I could win the game the first turn with a deep striking unit? Everyone said no thanks. It's a pity, but you'll be lucky to find somebody to play the game or even look at a list for it, because everyone either didn't like the setup, thought it was too overpowered, or had no friends who were interested and just kind of forgot about it. Sorry man, but Planetstrike was never actually IN favour for it to fall from.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I like it, Its a brilliant concept and leads itself brilliantly to more cinematic mission, it is poorly executed however. its not a game of attackers V defenders as it should be, It just resuts in a small force hiding in bastions to avoid the fire storm, attackers appearing and then all the defenders coming in from reserve. It could have been AMAZING, but it flubed and GW never went on supporting it

Yup. If you want an epic siege type game, it's better to just roll your own. The few times we did planetstrike, it was basically setting up an actual belivable-looking setting, people on fortress walls and all that keeping watch, and then watching as everything is wiped out by the attacker. If you don't play as described above, it's basically a one-sided stomp. Lately, we've been doing 'approach' style games, short edge to short edge. Only catch is that you have to draw the game out a good deal to get people from one end of the board to the other. We did 10 turns last night and it worked well.

I played one game, the guy just deep-striked meltas and destroyed the one base on turn two. I think the game would play better if there were multiple objectives, like a real invasion, not just blow up one building.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

I tried planet-strike once, on a 40k scaled helm's deep(LoTR) had to say it was fun.

Spear-head seems pretty fun too though.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

Not wanting to be a pain in the arse but haven't you posted links to your 2500 list several times now? It's getting quite a bit on the spamming side and thus annoying.

I like the idea, but it seems too simple to do what it's aiming to be.

I quite like it - utilising some strategems, the defender can quite easily turn the tables.
