Hello, Dakka. I've lurked here for a while now, and I've played 40k with proxies or Vassal a good while before that. I have not yet gotten into painting and modeling, however, because the prospect of being artistic terrifies me. However, I recently received a starting painting set, and intend to get into this aspect of the hobby once time and money allows.
Still, one cannot lurk forever.

I'm a paper and pen gamer for a bunch of years now, and my forays into 40k have been marked by this background - A big part of my attraction to the wargame has been to roleplay on a more macro scale, as well as challenge other generals on the field of battle.

As for how I game, since I proxy and use Vassal, I've used most armies at some point, although I've taken quite a liking to the Imperial Guard (Since using emoticons seems mandatory, let's get it over with:

), and was deeply happy when their 5e codex came out and they got that nice substantial power boost.

I'm hoping to be able to partake in discussions, ask questions, hopefully down the line unleash my pitiful attempts at art to the jeers and ridicule of my fellow man, and all those other things people do on Dakka.
The community seems pleasant from the lurker's viewpoint, so here's hoping the same holds true from a poster point of view too.

I'm noticing that my flag seems entirely wrong at the moment, perhaps because I make substantial use of IP proxies. I'm apparently supposed to talk to an admin or somesuch about it, who would I direct such inquiries to?
