Was dericted here by a friend of mine (dont know his username though/yet) and decided to give the forum a go. My boyfriend recently was gifted a warhammer set, (the island of blood set) and i decided that it looked like a fun hobby to get into. im mainly into the fantasy stuff, and mainly the assembly and painting part. though i have 0 experience in painting these little figures. I have 3 lonely little metal wood elves, and would like to get more.

It's my first attempt, so there not wonderful but id like to think (being somewhat of an artist) that their not horriable either.

I do consider these guys unfinished...but not too shabby. Hope i can find some friendly advice here and countinue to put a little army together just for fun. (im also interested in the dwarves as they make me laugh.)

Welcome. At first glance, it looks like you primed white and didn't quite get full coverage over that. With elves, you could try priming with a Krylon Camo Dark Green or Brown. Other than that, try some of the Citadel Washes. They are very easy to use and really give you some nice results.

thanks i did use a krlyon matte white... i dont think i covered evenly either. i was kind of in a hurry which its obvious is not soemthing to be done in this hobby. i was also useing some paints that were obviously pretty thin and didnt get all the tiny crevices. Im planning on probably stripping these and trying again. as i cant afford to buy any new models... work with what i got.

i do have a camo green from a different project that i will try. Thank you!

thanks for the welcome!

OH HAI!

Good to see you on here, dude. I'd check out the Painting and Modelling sections if I were you- if only for the awesome pictures of other people's stuff.

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

Welcome to Dakka

I like the scheme you've chosen, it suits them. Try using a a darker primer, and a smaller brush, should help bring out more colors and hide paint strokes. Hope that helps
