when i have 5 ork stormboyz and they use their rokkit packs how many d6 do i have to roll to see how many die???
just one for the whole unit?
or for each boy?
one or for 5 orks one?
pls help

You roll 1 dice for the whole unit.

But if you roll a . Then one of your orks (of your chosing) goes Kaboom!

You roll one die for one unit of Stormboyz. Should you roll a "one" 1 Stormboy, of your choosing, from that unit, dies.

Now pick another unit of Stormboyz and roll one die. See above for the rest.

SP. The die we talk about is the die we use to determine the length of the special Rokkit Pack-move. It is not an additional roll.

A unit can have a maximum of 30 storm boys in it. You roll 1 dice per unit and can then move 12" + whatever you rolled. If you roll a 1 then one boy is removed.

You aren't allowed 100 storm boys in an army, you are only allowed 3 fast attack units, each unit can only have a maximum of 30 boys.

Yep... yay for probability!

You could have 3 units of five, and roll 3 d6
And you could have 15 and roll 1 d6...

Just use large units of Stormboyz!

(Although a unit of 5 Stormboyz with a Nob w/PK can be a fearsome and cheap strike unit, so sometimes they are worth taking)

I forgot who it was on here, but someone mentioned that the best way to use Stormboyz is not as a strike unit, as they get to far ahead of the rest of the army and become smashed by the enemy. The best way is to use them to bolster assaults/counter assault and things like that because they are fast enough to get into assaults.

Unless you are playign Apoc. and then you could have 100 or 200 0r 500 or how many ever units you wish to buy...

Yeah I remember that advice and I'm looking forward to trying it out. Mostly I've used Stormboyz in groups of 5-10 as a strike force, and as a group of 15 deep-striking with Zagstruk.

Using them as a counter/bolster assault unit I think has great potential but it'll take practice. I need to work on my speed freaks list a bit though before I'm ready to build a list with this strategy.

I use my stormboyz in my green tide list. They stay behind my mobs and then jump into combat with the rest of the boyz or counter-assault to get my boyz out of combats they could get bogged down in.

Never is a strong word when it comes to Apoc, as basicly anything goes provided the players concerned agree to it.

Apoc. allows you (and even encourages you) to write your own datafaxes. It would be very easy to write one that was a storm boy version of The Green Tide or similar...

Warp spider jump packs can make a move in the assault phase ... on a double some one dies ... if the autarch (IC) take that jump pack and use it on his own he a has a 1 in 6 chance of dying.

Most certainly, but that is beyond the scope of this sub-forum. Here we deal with official material. Such a datafax would go in Proposed Rules.

Maximum strength of a stormboyz unit is 20, not 30

That gives you 60 non-apoc.

They make a decent mopping up crew either by jumping a screening unit when the time is right or outflanking. If you can afford Zagstrukks rather high points cost they are a nice suprise assault too..
