i'm new to the hobby.. sort of.. barely a year.. I'm thinking of fielding a khorne lord on juggernaut.. and i've been reviewing the forums for what weapon to gear him.. i'm left with 3 choices:

a daemon weapon - 17 attacks on a charge (if I understand the rules right, I roll to dice then if I get a 1 then he takes a wound and doesn't attack, right? a 2/12 chance?)
a powerfist - does this make him S10? for light Anti-armor and instant death
a pair of LCs - giving him 6 attacks on a charge with rerolls..

I'm also consdiering a combi melta...

any thoughts?

He may not be that competitive but I want to paint such..

and also how best to deploy him? he can still be attached to squads right since he's no an MC?

thanks!

He's not bad with a demon weaon, though Chaos doesn't have much in the way of cavalry for him to hang out with and keep fleet + 12" charge. You could put him with some bersekers. I say that Chaos is getting some gray hairs, and isn't going to be competitive anyways, so take whatever the heck you want so long as it looks cool.

Juggernauts are really difficult to get to the enemy because they can't be transported. You could field him in a massive blob of Marines to absorb fire, but you'll never really get to choose who you'll get into CC with. You can field him, just keep in mind your squad will need to be pretty versatile. Maybe Terminators...

The Bloodfeeder smacks you in the face if either die rolls a 1, so you have a 1/3 chance of taking a wound. A Powerfist wastes his I5. Dual Lightning Claws is probably your best bet.

EDIT: Mustela, the Juggernaut doesn't change his unit type, he just can't be transported.

In the Chaos Demon book I believe you can buy Juggernought units if thats the case buy them as a unit to lead and charge. I prefere the deamon sword, the 1 rarely does my Lord in. But check the Deamon book

Step 1: Realize and accept that a Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut with a Daemon Weapon isn't that good.
Step 2: Say screw it.
Step 3: Get the fantasy Khorne Lord on Juggernaut and paint and use one of the best models GWS makes.

Then paint what you think looks the coolest, and min-max be damned.

Sometimes you just need to play something that looks cool.

This.

A model which punches itself in the face one out of every three rounds of combat is terrible. But can be a laugh to try out occasionally anyway.

A Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut with a more useful weapon option (Lightning Claws is probably best, but Lightning Claw/Combi-Melta would also be good, and Powerfist isn't bad) can be pretty nasty, but is slow and has a tendency to get shot. If I were fielding one I'd also take a Land Raider and move them up together, with him hiding behind the LR so a lascannon doesn't blow his head off before he gets anywhere. Or maybe attached to a big squad of footslogging Khorne Berserkers.
