Ok heres my paint log for my Dark Eldar first of some reposting to get you up to date.

Made a start painting my new army here is the first (small) squad of Kabalite Warriors




and my counts as Razorwing Flocks (went for a phantasm style idea)

Lessons learnt from assembling and painting these models.

1) The hellion heads are awful and out of the 8 or so provided one is maybe acceptable luckily there are lots of spares in both warrior and wych boxes.
2) In the future I will keep the rider and board seperate for painting as it proved to be somewhat difficult to get into the various nooks and crannies.
3) Because they have no base there is a tendency for paint to rub off the model as you hold it to paint, disposable gloves mitigate the problem somewhat.

After these lessons here are the results that suffered from points 2 and 3.

Last update for a week (till I'm back at work and have chance to paint more) and it's a 10 man squad of wyches. I hate hate hate painting eyes but these didn't come out as bad as they could have.

Here's my first painted DE Vehicle. Gotta say it was a challenge I'm used to painting rhinos and chimeras where there is no visible crew, this has 4 crew members and an awful lot of detail work.







Quite pleased with the finished product though the higlight lines are a little shaky.

Quiet night shift left me lots of painting time and here are the results

Reavers - easier to paint than first expected but still fiddly.

Here are my Incubi for my growing Kabal. I combined my normal red and green scheme with white armour panels and helmets representing thier loyalty to both the kabal and the incubi. I chose white not sure if that is the right colour but it represents a lack of colour a lack of emotion a purity and perfection which the incubi strive for.





This guy is the Klaviex on account of him having a fancier helmet

I have some shredder/blast pistols i made a few weeks ago on my desk, nice to see someone else thought of it too. Btw: MY GOODNESS YOU ARE A MACHINE!!! You've got a whole armies worth and i haven't broke the twenty model mark.... Goes without saying that i love the scheme.

Nice conversion work there.

Wow! I can't believe I never thought of kitbashing Pistols and Shredders. :/ Haha, what a great idea! They look excellent.

And the Silver helmets/weapons and green tabards look a million times better than the brown tabards and black weapons on your warriors.

I'm finding the DE vehicles really easy to put together but a pain in the A$$ to paint (to many fiddly nooks and crannies).

More great work. I'm enjoying the green. Nicely done.

Your Dark Eldar look superb! Great conversion work. Loving the simple Khymera conversions as well. GW definitely put a mighty high price tag on the new models and yours look great.

It´s project logs like this that make me want to start an army. Problems are that I allready have two 40k armies in progress (not to mention my 4 Fantasy armies) while NOT EVEN PLAYING 40K! ^^

Good idea to highlight the silver with red. But maybe you can paint the signs on the silver green to??

Awesome work! I love the chymerae (how ever you spell it) they are better than the official GW ones and nice paintjob too. The Trueborns helmets remind me of Cobra from the old GI JOE cartoons.

Green hairs unite! I will be following this with interest and may actually post my own dark eldar when I get around to doing some painting (shortly after the apocalypse, no doubt).

All in all quite happy with how they came out.

3+ For Phantasmness. Haven't ran into anyone else who's even heard of Phantasm, let alone seen it. So, 3+.

Looks great, love the color scheme. If I had stuck with DE I would have tried, in vane, to attempt a scheme like this. I would have failed miserably, too.

Those scourges are cool! different from the typical gargoyle winged ones. With the enclosed helmet as well it makes them look like a swooping hawk's bad-ass grandma!
