We know what the Warp is in the 41st Millennium, but what do you think Chaos would act like in our times? Surely there is at least some difference.

As of now, the first three gods, Khorne, Nurgle and T'zeentch are fully sentient. Slaanesh will not become sentient for another 27 millennia.

Perhaps a minor chaos deity has taken his/hers/it's place? If Freud's theories are in anyway true, there's got to be something representing lust.

Makes you wonder though, what kind of crazy, hardcore gak did those Eldar do to make a god of pure lust and excess?

It must be more perverted than our weirdest porn and more evil than the worst acts humanity pulled off. Which means that Eldar should never, ever tell anyone what to do or that the monkeigh are filthy or anything cause they must've been so damn messed up that they'd immediately ask for a proper genocide! The Eldar also had more amplified emotions and senses, so lusful acts committed by them have bigger effects in the warp than we do.

I remember reading in Codex: Chaos Space Marines that while many Daemon Princess are Chaos Space Marine champions that has been elevated by the gods of chaos for their service to them, they've been plucking humans from all ages and ascending them into daemonhood.

Anyway, it seems like the gods of chaos has had their eyes set on mankind for quite a while. Perhaps they realised the incredible destiny humans will have, in colonising/conquering almost the entire galaxy from a very early point. I believe this is why the Emperor were created by thousands of shamans and psykers of pre-historical earth, as they realised the terrible gaze the warp had on our race, and sacrificed themselves collectively into making a protector that would keep their grubby hands off us.

Plus, the Eldar empire spanned a huge chunk of the galaxy and almost all of their population (except the craftworlders and exodites) were taking part in all the messed up decadence. It's a whole league appart from the small minority of the population of one planet like we have now.

Do to the nature of the Warp, Slaanesh is both not fully sentient and completely sentient simultaneously. So Slaanesh is fulfilling its role before it is known to exist.
