Hi to all!

In this new project I will use only 2 miniatures: a space marine terminator and a genestealer (tyranid).

The idea is inspired in the Space Hulk game, and I want to represent the strenght of the terminator searching the xenomorph, who wants to attack the space marine.

The terrain was made with some "trash" materials. I love recycle, hahaha!

1st STEP

2nd STEP

Finally I finished it.

I like the contrast that I tried in this scene. The turquoise tones has allowed me to paint different areas and to play with new and better weather effects.

I painted shadows and lights in the minis, but I am unable to extract a few good photos.

I am satisfied with the final result, with the tyranid which rises from the depths, being illuminated for hatch's light.

I hope you like it, because I finished very tired with this work.

Be happy!

Ah, Connann, you never fail to impress.

My one criticism would be that the genestealer's two lower limbs (on the facing side) look a bit unnaturally positioned.

Actually, nevermind. I've just taken a closer look and it's just the angle of the photos that make it look like some of the limb segments are missing.

So yeah, great work

Gorgeous diorama which creates a great story and feel.

I really like this diorama. Simple and plenty to look at. Colours work well and its painted very clean.

If you don't mind, Id like to give some feedback.

If you could darken the bottom sides of the genestealer, the atmosphere would darken for the whole diorama (light is coming from the top of the hatch) making people scream "Dont open that"!!! As it is, its a termi just opening a hatch. Theres no feeling of suspense. Add some darkness to the tunnel. Scary, scary.

EDIT: Looking at the pics again, it could be the flash lighting it up a lot. I could be wrong about my comment.

I especially like how the hatch appears to be "peeling up" with the Terminator's Power Fist instead of just being "opened". He's going to find out quite soon that jammed hatched should remain just that. Ha.

Fantastic work! I love how vertical this diorama is. People play around with elevation every now and again, but I rarely see a scene where the entire plane of focus is shifted like this. Especially surprising, considering how popular the Space Hulk models are and the fact that one of them is tearing up the flooring. It seems like such an obvious jump, in hindsight, but you're the first one I've seen make it - and you did so brilliantly.

I could swear I've seen this diorama concept before in an old WD (probably late 80s, when Space Hulk first came out), though there was obviously no terminator in such a pose available back then. Even if the concept is not original (and it may be independent invention), the execution is outstanding! Great colors and scenery work!

Fantastic diorama Connann, dramatic, tells a story, well executed... wonderful!

I have one criticism if I may, and I say this with deepest respect. I find the design of the door at odds with the orientation of the scene. The portal, by it's design just seems to be built for a sideways doorway as opposed to a hatch going down... the circular hole, eye slot, etc. just seem wrong for a portal oriented on the vertical plane. I even thought that it might be that a weightless hulk in space could be oriented in any direction, so perhaps the actual hallway went from top to bottom... but the sign and hinges on the door give the lie to that theory.

In any case it's beautiful work... but I thought a little constructive criticism might be appreciated.
