Advance Order for the new Orcs and Goblins is up! Official release date is March 5th.

Highlights:

Hard bound army book makes me jealous.

Giant spider base. It's 2.5 Screaming Bell bases (previously the largest base I believe) wide. That's right, this monster is on a 100mmx150mm base!

Lost of new models for the savage lines, as well as battle magic cards for both the Waagh! and Little Waagh! lines of magic. (Sold as one set, obviously.)

That arachnarork looks amazing. I'd be sorely tempted to get one just to make it!

Also the hardback book looks great!

Ha, I've seen nor read anything about a new armybook for the O&G. I was pleasantly surprised. Though I have the Orc Armybook, I don't play them I play brets, but that spider is just a must have. This throws my plan of selling my orc book out of the window, though.

Well I think GW wants to put out new incentives for fantasy players to buy their monster carrying case . Or they realised that big monsters like that spider are just cool (will definitely buy one ... I just don't know when to build/paint it).

Night Lords: 5500 points / 1750 points painted
Orks: 1250 points / 300 points painted
Orcs & Goblins: 6000 points / 2500 points painted
Tomb Kings: 3000 points / 1500 points painted

Isn't this unit in the current book, just without a model? I thought it was...

Haha, I got the spelling right in the OP, but went back to my 40k Orks for the title. Whoops!

Holy crap... Guess what giant spider will be converted into a undead mount for a certain vampire lord...

Nope! There a gigantic spider, which is much much much smaller than the new ... huge? spider and has a model already.
You can do an entirely spider mounted army now, which is nice. You could even model a "squig herd" as a big herd of spiders, if you wanted, to fill up your special slots.

Not sure the Araknarok base being 100mm wide will be great for the spider. Line up a horde properly and that's 21 attacks on the poor bug. Think I'll now build a horde of great weapon wielding Dwarfs for this purpose (who will be able to re-roll misses cos of hatred)

In the blog today they point out the hardcover lets you rest the book on the table & it stays open- that is really nice change. I'm excited to see what an 8e book looks like.

Yea, great, now where the feth is Wurrzags boar? :K
They killed off a great part of him.
However, ill still keep my old one, even if the new sculpt is nice.

Must have that srpider though.
Gotta admit, it has blown my mind

The hardcover just means they can hike the price of books even more

Quick edit to my post, but im guessing this beast will be in the 300 point range and a rare?

Also, says a great shaman can take it as a mount, so looks like they will be spammed like steggs are

I'd like a spiral bound Army book... I'll likely wait for the softback, so I can take it to Kinkos and have spiral bound for a few bucks.

Seeing as how it sticks out of that king size base, i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's humongous.

I think GW likes mega big models because (IMHO) kids like mega big units. What's that 40K thing, Apocolypse? Where you can practically stand on the board yourself and be a substitute for the units?

Hell Pit Abomination was around for a bit. It just didn't have a model, right? Besides 2 Coke cans.
