Is it possible that the death of the Emperor will bring about yet another Chaos God? I have not looked far into the background of 40k, aside from the Codices and the HH itself, and want to know whether or not my theory is plausable. Thank you in advance for any answers.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

AFAIK when the Emperor really die, his soul will go to warp and rape Chaos Gods. Or he will resurrect, witch will also result in raping them.

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

Should the Emperor's soul be released from its physical bonds then that would allow Him to reincarnate.

I have my own idea that the worship of untold trillions of humans in a false image of the Emperor is creating a warp entity however, which I call the Carrion Lord but that's only my idea of course.

These are bits taken from the Lexicanum's article on the "Star Child" that I believe will shed a bit of light on your question:

After Horus rebelled and destroyed the Emperor's mortal frame, his body and soul could no longer remain as one; his soul melted into the warp, only a tiny core of the Emperor's humanity remaining whole, which was like a small child in a tiny reed boat adrift in the storm of the warp. Since the Emperor's soul survived, there was a possibility that his whole essence could be reborn once more.

In the same way the Shamans died together to reincarnate as the Emperor, the Emperor's death too could herald a new saviour. That time would lie far in the future, when mankind's desire for a new saviour would strengthen the core of the Emperor's soul and rekindle it to new life.

The soul of the Emperor adrift in the warp is the Star Child. The humans that were left in charge of the Imperium had no real understanding of what had happened to the Emperor. Though the Emperor's body continued to live within the Golden Throne and his mind continued to be a beacon for humanity, his soul is a god waiting to be born.

However this is only one view on the meaning of the "Star Child". For more read the rest of the article, and consider looking into "The Inquisition War" by Ian Watson.

Also in the above-mentioned article is a bit fact supporting Brother Coa's first statement in his post:

It is stated in Eye of Terror, a novel by the deceased Barrington J. Bayley, that once the Emperor dies his soul will be freed to go into the warp. Here it will Neutralize the Chaos Gods, causing the physical universe to fight one last bloody conflict against each other for the control of the galaxy.

If memory serves, the release of the Star Child is also thought to be one of the possible motives of Cypher, the most infamous Fallen Angel.

There are hundreds of chaos gods.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Technically there is already a fifth Chaos God, Malial the ultimate god of Chaos mainly becuase he is Chaos incarnate. His existence is downplayed in the current editions but anyone worshiping him is just as likely to kill the more "ordered" god's worshipers than the forces of the Imperium for no real rhyme or reason.

Really Malal is the only Chaos god that makes sense, the others have worshipers that form ranks and armies to fight the Imperium. Doing this is a form of order...... then again im just thinking about it to much

No, though. I dont think the death of the Emperor would cause this. I dont think anything the emperor does can result in evil . If it did do this though the Emperor would just beat it down in the Warp.

How about creating the primarchs? Half of them ended up pretty evil.

To bring the thread back to subject:
We do know that incredibly profound events can, over time, bring about the formation of a God. Slaanesh was formed through the Eldar's excess.

With the theory of the Star Child and the above fact, it is understandable to think that the death of such an important individual as the Emperor would have a sufficient enough affect on the Warp as to bring about a new God.

Due to the Chaos God's constant struggle for power, either between themselves or with the Imperium, I find that it would follow that any God borne of the Emperor would be in the vein of offsetting the inherent evil of the current Chaos God's.

But to directly answer OP's question: The two standing theories on the effect of the Emperor's death are thus:
-He will be reincarnated into another significant being, the next Emperor of Mankind (Perhaps even with memories of his previous life. The current emperor is just a reincarnation of every Shaman of Old Earth's souls bound into one being. He possesses their talents and their knowledge. I am unsure if he possesses their memories though.)

-The parts of his soul still trapped within his mortal frame will join the parts of soul drifting in the warp and he will become a new, whole, and astoundingly powerful warp entity. Whether that entity will be a god in the sense of the current ones, I do not know.

The 5th Chaos God,once known as Malal, still exists but is now known as Malice and is worshipped primarily by the Sons of Malice. A short story in the Heroes of the Space Marines anthology describes the entity as the Hierarch of Anarchy and Terror.

Rage courses in every heart , yearning to betray its rational prison.

Well, the thing with Malal is that he was created back in the day when the author, not GW, had copyright of a BL book. Because of some 'troubles' involving this kind of copyright, Malal does not technically belong to GW anymore. The Sons of Malice is a sneaky way of including him in an offhand way that does not breach copyright. But I prefer him over the rest.

As for the Emperor's death, that would cause proper trouble, for one, warp-travel would become impossible now the astronomican's gone, and second, the daemons that the Emperor sealed behind the Golden Throne would be unleashed upon Terra. Those are two immediate events that would utterly screw the Imperium, reincarnation/Chaos God nullifying or not.

Plus there is the fact that the entire Imperial economy is based in a very convoluted manner on a ridiculously large bar tab that the Emperor, Russ, Dorn, Fulgrim and Ferrus Manus managed to run up one night; If the Emperor dies, he can't pay up and it all falls apart overnight.
