Hey guys ! How do you deal with him?

His psychic abilities and more specific the Gift of Chaos are a bit overpowered.
I mean you pay 200 points for a dissent HQ and when you charge him, he can
turn you into a slimmy abomination !

I guess send libbies on him and try to Psy Hood all his powers?
Shoot him 'till he's dead?

It puzzles me since the next game I am playing is against 1kSons and he will
be deploying him as far as I know

Any hints would be appreciated

I've never played against ahriman personally, but I don't really see what he brings to the table that is worth 200pts. I guess he can pop a transport with warptime and bolt, following up with wind of chaos or another bolt if it survives. But he needs to get pretty close for that, not to mention gift of chaos.

You play blood angels?

Yes ! The whole trouble I see with him is that if I charge him or get close enough to him (6") he casts Gift of Chaos and turns any model of mine into a spawn. That's a bit annoying. Not to be able to do anything against that !

Ahriman costs 250 points. So if he turns your 200 point HQ into 40 point worth Chaos Spawn, he is still 10 points loss...

Just shoot his transport, so he can't get close enough for spawn.

Ahriman is scary because of warp time and the psykick killing abilaty. The chaos spawn thing is just bad.

Gift of Chaos makes the enemy take a toughness test, thus a 33% chance on a space marine - completely agree. Gift of Chaos is good for anti-tarpit, as it gives you extra D6 Str 5 attacks. A Sanguine sword Librarian w/ unleash rage on might of heroes should beat the snot out of him with the help of a Saguinary Priest .

This makes little sense, as he can do much more than that, and that is not a very good way to measue worth. Something can not make up it's points, but can still be extremely good (i.e. Grots)

Of course, it was just to illustrate his extremely high cost...

Uhhh... Ahriman is T4, right? Does he have "eternal warrior"?

Hint: no

Um.... Melta guns. Huskblade... anything really. You can easily kill him in shooting (Plasma is great).

He's not an eternal warrior, which really holds him back.

Runes of Warding. Then watch him kill himself from PotW. 3 psychic tests a turn on 3D6, he's going to blow up his own mind quickly enough

Ahriman is not very good from a competitive standpoint.

Since Gift of Chaos has a 6" range, he should never have an opportunity to use it before you charge him (since he can only cast it on his own turn). Destroy his transport and get within 18" with your assault squad. Next turn, move 12", shoot, and assault. Your S8/9 powerfist will turn him to mush if he fails only 1 save from it (ID).

Ahriman only has a 4++ and 3 wounds at T4, and so is pretty easily killed in shooting by any sort of anti-infantry weapon (Plasma). Meltas work too, in a pinch.

His powers aren't even very good, since he was FAQ'd to where he can't pop off 3 Bolts of Tzeentch per turn... all he has going for him really is 3 Gifts per turn. Not exactly scary for 250 points.
