No. As already shown, it's this helmet.

To be fair Judge Dredd was my first thought too. The gas mask especially looks like a certain chin.

Yeah, it's obviously a Judge Dredd homage/revision. The shape of the red chevron is unmistakable (and absent from the old artwork). The skull is resized to the proportion of the crest on J.D.'s helmet. The lower edges of the helmet appear to be much less flared than the art.

Is there a reason for that new miniature to have "Krieg" in his name if he doesn't have any relevance to the regiment (although, some parts of his uniform do seem slightly similar to that of the DKoK general)? Obviously names and such get taken from various real-world sources, but it seems a little odd that they'd choose that when it's already used for the DKoK.

It's the German word for war and German names/words are often used as a shorthand for 'nobility' in 40k.

I think they've just gone for Germanic sounding names / titles - House Greim, Krieg Mester & Jagerkin.

Krieg Mester translates as War Master (German/Hungarian) and he's a military advisor.

Yeah but you'd think GW would be more careful with branding. If they had a guy with a blue cape they wouldn't call him Lord Ultramarine (after his cape) lest people be confused with the Ultramarines who are super duper marines that are also painted ultramarine.

Lots of words for war in the world, what's wrong with maître de guerre? or bellum dominum?

Krieg Mester isn't a German word. A word-for-word translation of War Master/Warmaster would be Kriegsmeister, but this word isn't used.

It's German enough for GW, like all their Latin is close enough. It is 38,000 years in the future, so a little bit of language drift should be accounted for

Sure. And it's something GW made since decades, so I don't understand Damocles rather snarky comment. There was a Commissar Krieglust in 1st edition (correct would be Kriegslust). Later GW Germany translated his name into Kommissar Warlik (you know, warlike...) .

Hell, laque is also French for hairspray, so House De Laque/Delaque could be roughly translated into House of hair spray (though I'm not sure if this is intentional).

With that Cawdor beast being released, there are a surprising number of Max Max characters that you can make pretty easily from necromunda.

Mad'donna = Tina Turner
Cawdor thing = Master & Blaster
Goliath ganger = Humungus
Goliath ganger = Immortan Joe
Kal = Max Rockatansky
Scabs = bush pilot
