The point is that past performance is not a guarantee of what will happen in a future for anything. If it was, then there would be no point in allowing people second chances for any mistake ever made. Made a mistake on a math test in school? You're bad at math and can never learn to be good at it. Life over, get out. Maybe you can get an English degree. Except that's exactly NOT how it works.

Does this mean you should never consider the past? Of course not, simply that what happened before is not an ironclad indicator of what WILL happen and to act like it will be is its own form of folly. Mantic have screwed up in the past and have pulled material switches; these are both indisputable facts of the past. That Mantic has acknowledge many of the mistakes they've made makes them less likely to re-occur, though "less likely" does not translate to "impossible" of course.

*Lovely on the inside. You have to get to know him. He doesn't make it easy, but if you put out the offer of interest and let him warm up to you, totally lovely person.

So I've actually just opened up the Vermyn I've gotten from the DZ KS and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the PVC casting. Minimal mold lines (almost none to be precise). If everyone could cast PVC like this, I would be much more accepting of it as a medium

all plans are subject to change.

The next few months will be spent focusing on the first few armies from the book - Enforcers, Forge Fathers, Asterians, Veer-Myn - which you'll see more of next month. After that we will be releasing the GCPS and Plague. Remember that a lot of the units in the Kickstarter aren't out yet and it'd make little sense to start another faction without seeing those released first. We'll be supporting existing factions by getting starter sets, KS releases and a few more units out as we go - this takes us into next year.

Next year we'll also be handling Star Saga releases, which will include the Rebs and Nameless expansions. The models for these are planned to go into Deadzone, too. Warpath is something we can try but it isn't nailed down just yet for those factions, as we'd prefer to have fully supported list in terms of miniatures, rather than releasing lists without miniatures. In the short list of factions to do beyond the current 6, Rebs and Nameless are on the short list.

I wish Mantic well on this - it will be good to see another major player/game with an SF setting.

Should we have gotten our digital rules copies of Warpath yet? I certainly haven't, but I do have my physical rulebooks and now see they're about to release them digitally to the general public.

If that's their only "finished" flyer, they might be holding off until other factions have their flying models available. Because some semblance of balance when releasing a new game with several factions.

If it's the way many voice acting gigs go he may have done it the American way, sent it back, and it could have come back with with requests and suggestions including "You pronounced this wrong", and epic voice guy being a professional does what the customer asks.

Just postulation on my part, but having been involved in voice overs and narration similar things have happened to me before.

I'm also waiting on GCPS drop ships. Like...6, I think? You get three per GCPS battle group, right?
And I'll be very disappointed if they (or the mules) are restic. I have the marauder raptors, and those are awful!

If Mantic don't make the main vehicle kits in hard plastic, Warpath/Firefight's release will be DoA. I just can't see a load of people coming in from that 'other game' to restic vehicles. Main troops and vehicles need to be hard plastic, the rest in metal, resin or that new pvc.

GW dropped the ball with the release of AoS and really helped Mantic out with KoW. I'm sure that won't happen again when 40k 8th is released.

most people coming from the other game won't buy anything no matter what material

and I am sure the standard stuff will be in hard plastic and hope for resin/restic upgrades will replace the metal parts in future

Quick round up of some Mantic Sci-Fi news

Dreadball 2 KS delayed until October due to manufacturing issues. That's when Star Saga is supposed to ship so at a guess that will slip to Q1 2018.

New Renders

Warpath Objective cards - £7.99 contains 66 Objective Cards for use in games of Warpath and Firefight, including every Objective in the Rulebook and Faction Specific Objectives. Retail only release these are not part of the KS.

I wonder if 'manufacturing issues' means that Mantic are pulling all their (hard) plastic business from the current Chinese factory that couldn't/wouldn't do most of the flyers and are now having to move it all over to another?

I've backed an unrelated dice KS that just got a pretty hard shaft from their Chinese manufacturer as well over materials, gate locations, and a big backtrack on metallic ink (the samples they sent to earn the contract had it, now they claim they can't do it); and Reaper has been pulling teeth trying to get everything out of China for Bones 3, and while they'll beat the Bones 1 time, it'll actually be later than Bones 2. Might be a bit of a pinch over there right now.
