As the title says this thread is about a GK Battleforce. Now as I've seen GW won't be releasing a GK Battleforce to coincide with the new minies that will be released on April the 2nd. I have dosh lying about that I wish to spend on the new GK's so I can kick-start my marine chapter. If anyone has ideas of images of how large or what a GK Battleforce should be comprised of please let me know. Also, I'm not saying points-wise Battleforces ONLY I would like standard size as well if anyone has the ideas of one.

This sounds like an actually really good deal.
GK units are all made from the same boxes, so you can't end up with crap units like scouts or assault marines.

I prefer the rhino battleforce over the Dreadknight battleforce.
More efficient, less dreadknight crammed down your throat. Rhinos are always useful, DKs are not.

This is probably going to be the most useful battleforce yet.

Agree with ph34r, I'd rather take the rhino over the DK. Though it all depends on the amount of spare bits in it... I don't think I'll use GKT, but their bits should be good anyway, especially the weapons, so...

Current policy is not to release a battleforce in the 1st wave, as it unnecessarily reduces profit. But eventually it will come.

Considering each PAGK squad has the options to make four separate unit types and the GKTs can make three--you'd have quite a few spare bits.

It may end up only with 15 PAGKs and a rhino. I'm somewhat doubtful that GW would include Terminators in their Battleforces, even if it's a troop choice.

Generally the new battleforces are £60 each.

So i cant see them going with:

10 PAGK
5 TAGK
Dreadknight

Price wise thats £97


Usually they tend to save you £5-£10
So nothing massive.
But its usually units and a transport, so i think:

5 PAGK
5 TAGK
Rhino

Seems small, but you dont get that many decent deals like you used to.


Old DE force:
5 reaver jetbikes, raider, 20 warriors.

And that was for £40 :(

Depends... Do the battleforces contain all the sprues?

Yeah, or at least they likely would.

Otherwise it wouldn't be "10 Power Armored Grey Knights", but "2 Grey Knight X Squads".

Tbh i dont think they will ever release a gk battleforce as they would of by now, as it is usually released when the 'reinforcements' arrive. But apart from a few characters and some henchmen every model in the gk force has a unit. oh and black tmeplars dont have a battle force.

June 2012 and still no Grey Knights battleforce. I'm getting impatient!

Really, what can they put in a GK Battleforce? They normally give a few average squads and a Transport. For GK a few average squads would be 2 or 3 PAGK. Build them as Purifiers and get Crowe. Purispam with a Rhino. And because they simply use the ame models for their Assaults as tactical equivients, they can't put "Assault marines" in. All it takes is someone with spare SM packs and there is another Purifier squad. And they can't put Heavy Weapons in for a Dev squad as that is another Purifier squad. GW apparently doesn't want people to spam stuff, so putting any PAGK into a box set is just a way for people to spam Purifiers and get bitz.

The same for Termies as any Terminators in the box will turn into Palidins and Draiowing.


If they should put anything into GK, they should do models for Valeria, Thawn and Mordrak. In fact, they should do a special ox of Terminators that are modlled weathered and broken as Ghost Knights.
