I have this list where I still have 100 points to spend, and 2 elite and HS FOC slots available, one of each.

What should I choose,

ML dreadnought or bolter sponsons predator?

Anything else?

Please, thoughts and tactics for them?

With ML thats not such an issue at least.

Whats the rest of your army look like? 2empty Heavy slots..theres likely something you can shave some pts on to go for oblits/defiler/vind.
unless models etc are an issue of course.

Let's see the rest of the list.

For my money, what CSM usually needs more of is ranged antitank. 100pts doesn't buy you a predator which does that. You need at least 130 for the AC turret with las sponsons. 100 for a Dread with ML is a good deal, IMO, especially if your local group doesn't make him spin backwards to shoot at things behind him when he fire-frenzies. The dread is also multipurpose, in that it can assault as well.

Your local group shouldn't make him spin around, as that is against the rules. But let's see the rest of the list.

I agree that it's against the rules. But we had a massive going-around-in-circles discussion about it recently in YMDC, so let's not rehash that.

Pred for sure.

Dreds are good at killing their own troops.

Not if they move along any other AV (twin dread) model and use frag ammo when frenzied.
The point of dreads is side AV12 and the chance of 2 krak missiles onto enemy units when frenzied (not a thing to rely on, just for the opponent to think of)
Preds on their side have front AV13 and sponson weapons for RoF improvement.
Both options 100 Pts. worth... Ideas?

Also dreads have some CC ability for redundancy purposes...

Sure it does (sorta).

Predator + Las. turret is 105. Not great, but it's something.

I'd go with the ML dread. And if you've got an extra 5 points, strap on a heavy flamer for 'just in case'.

Also, keep him away from your troops if you have a HF.
