Whats the baddest vehicle roaming the skies of the 40K universe? I say the Nightwing, anything eldar is just sleeker, more elegant and probably 800 times faster...If your wondering why neither DE fighter is here well we dont know what they look like so they are excluded, and i also wanted to avoid any super heavy fighters too. Just FYI.

Hellblade. Anything with 'hell' in name, and belonging to chaos is an autowin in my book.

Since its a straight up dog fight, yes probably the Nightwing. Only when numbers/anti aircraft capabilities and other factors kick in could I see the result changing.

Tau Baracuda if you look at their stats they are amazing. I would vote for it but you have missed it out

Vendetta, (but only because you've left off the Vulture Gunship). The ability to hover worked well for Harriers in the Falklands, it'll probably come in handy in the 41st millenium too.

But then again in the falklands the Argentinian aircraft wasn't as advanced as the UK as it was a poorer country.

They had the latest french mirage jet fighters, they just didn't dogfight against the harriers but were used for anti shipping.

Also, where are the lightning interceptor and thunderbolt? They are actual fighters rather than the vendetta which is a gunship. ( Also don't forget the ork fighta and fighta-bomma)

I can't really envisage a dogfight in the 41st millenium. A crazy mofo in powered armour using an oversized chainsaw as a weapon yes, dogfight not so much.

I'd say the Fighta Bomba, but it's not on the list.

Thunderbolt, slow lumbering little beasties, but something about those harsh lines just really screams: 'I am going to kick your ass, and the ass of everyone around you, just cause'

Yeah the poor birdie gets blasted out of the sky by the Eldar, but it fought the Tau airforce to a standstill on Taros (until the Imperium stopped shipping in supplies, and the Tau dropped Crisis suits on their airfield....), so it can do SOMETHING right.

So in a thread called "Dog-fight poll" you only include two actual dog-fighters......one of which is your favourite and the other being the Hellblade.

Skipping the Barracuda, the Ork Fighta, the Lightning and the Thunderbolt from the poll makes this thread an utter failure.

Currently the Vendetta is ahead of the Nigthwing.

The Nightwing would be a clear winner for dog fighting.

Yet as an Eldar fan, I think the Chaos Hellblade is the most stylish fighter around. If I played Aeronautica Imperialis, I would probably play Chaos for them.

The Nightwing is actually the toughest of all the equivalent sized fighters (only the thunderbolt is close). However, in AI it's expensive, only beaten by the Phoenix in points for fighters, and the Tau Manta overall.

Voted Eldar as the most bad ass, IMO the coolest is the fighta bomba though.

Doh, me too (looked at the subject first).

I would probably say the Hellblade, those things are seriously stylish.

I think according to the fluff at least, the Eldar are known for their air superiority abilities so I think the Nightwing would be the best all-around fighter.

In terms of my personal preference however, I'm a Thunderbolt fan.
