Greetings, and all that jazz.
Anyway, quick intro about myself. I'm a 20 year old Art Director and Graphic Designer, with some Web experience thrown in there. I have 1 high school class of InDesign under my belt and that's the extent of my formal training in those fields.
I play Didgeridoo and Saxaphone, and while for the better part of 7 years online gaming has been my primary hobby, I seem to have lost a lot of my taste for it in favor of pursuing more career-oriented interests. I'm hoping to break into the 3D and CGI field in the next few years after a few classes.
In that respect, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I feel that Wargaming, especially the hobby behind it, would help further my art skills and with visualizing form, colour and functionality in a tactile medium.
My quest to find a local hobby shop in my area came to a close yesterday. It is literally the last place that still stocks Games Workshop products within 30 miles of both my house and place of work. Let's just say some bricks were shat when I finally called a number that wasn't disconnected (even the shop I went to when I was a kid).
And so, I break back into the hobby with a host of resources on the internet at my disposal. Wat do?
