In need of a replacement for my chunky and impractical old gaming board, I ran across Zuzzy on the web. The 6' x 4' "Broken Blacktop" is perfect for my needs (easy to store and will go well with my ruined city terrain) and at $52.61 (£32.19) was a fabulous price.

Great! (thinks I) until I tried to order one. I can't find a UK supplier and to order direct from Zuzzy with added shipping and tax comes to $89.44 (£54.71) - so its going to cost me more in GBP than the RRP in USD

Does anyone know of where I can get one of these in the UK (or shipped to the UK) for something closer to the original price?

thanks in advance - C_C

I don't think there are any retailers in the world carrying Zuzzy mats. Yes, the postage is the deal breaker for these mats, but to be fair, this rubber is super heavy.

If Zuzzy doesn't work out, have you looked at these guys?

I picked up one of their urban mats and am really pleased with it. No painting required, either. There can be a fair wait involved though.

I did a search on Dakka for Zuzzy, and a load of discussions on mats came up.
I thought someone asked the same a month ago, but I can't find it.
I'll be looking for a mat soon, so review on what you get would be good

@Kroothawk - do you have one of these, then? They look really good but it would be nice to have it confirmed by someone who owns one.

@Necroagogo - I had a look at terrainmat but didn't particularly like them (personal preference), and as you say the wait is silly, I think its a 7 week wait at the moment.

Zuzzy I like the matts but I dislike the site and the fact they failed the first test I usually run when ordering from new store... I send a mail with a couple questions concerning either stock or service... and if a store doesn't reply to a potential costumer then I wonder how it will handle if there's any problem with the order... as such I will not do business with stores that dont reply to their costumers mails.

Not only does Zuzzy not supply any UK retailers, they don't supply any retailers anywhere. The only way to get a Zuzzy mat is to order from them direct.

Having said that, if you are in the US or Canada, I've heard very good things about their customer service and products. Not sure why Navarro didn't get a reply to his query, as I've heard from users of their products that they're usually very good about that sort of thing.

Maybe I need to try again and send another mail... at this moment I'm not really impressed but I will give them another chance since sometimes mails get lost etc... failing a reply to the second mail then I will draw my conclusions...

Well, so much for that idea... looks like that might be relegated to my christmas list!

I don't own one, because the shipping costs prevented it up to now. But the city mat is tempting.
Heard good things about the mat by several people. You just have to adapt your painting to make it rollable (well, the city mat doesn't need much painting) and you must tolerate the rubber smell for a loong time.

Shipping heavy stuff like the mat is expensive, either you pay it yourself or a possible retailer pays it and charges you for it. It's not for free.

Shipping is not that bad Im more worried about customs fees if it gets stuck there... That would be avoidable if there was a EU store.

I have one  I'd ordered mine within half a hour of Kroot posting a link about the city mat here on Dakka

Its brilliant, I've only partially painted it (due to a lack of time) but the detail and quality is ace. It wasn't cheap with the postage and stuff from the US, but I'm more than happy with it. The 1st two battle reports in my sig are played on it, not that you'll really be able to see any detail
