Brook's a dude, so I wouldn't get too excited.

But seriously. They're adding Sentinels to the register of Rogue Trader?

Holy damn awesome.

Sentinels and scout bikes spearheading a convoy of sorts. Ohohohoho, an excellent opportunity to start work on those special issue Sentinels again, not to mention work on those scout bikes I've got lying about.

I do hope we're also getting something of a guideline for creating our own vehicles, so we can fill in any blanks. I do hope they'll also include the Chimera and Centaur.

You know, why use scoutbikes...Tauros would work better as convoy guards I'd think.

Because the picture on the cover shows it best: bikes with grenade launchers are awesome?

Besides, I'm not letting those buffoons anywhere near my prized Tauros' and Venators!

DW release schedule...
http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=1511

This the break down SonofDorn on the FFG website wrote up:

SonofDorn wrote:Deathwatch Core Rulebook: August 2010

Deathwatch Game Master's Kit: Fall 2010

The Emperor Protects: Fall 2010

Rites of Battle: Winter 2011

Mark of the Xenos: Spring 2011

The Achilus Crusade: Spring 2011

Maybe it was placed in order wrong, but I'm really, really hoping that was a typo concerning the date. I'd much rather see a Winter 2010 release date (and I'm sure many of you are too!)

Emperor Protects and The Achilus Crusade appear to be mission books. Mark of the Xenos is a monster manual. Rites of battles includes rules for vehicle battles, space marine vehicles, expanded power armor rules, and build your own chapter rules.

Wow. Didn't think we'd get a release schedule thingy for DW this early. All good though.

The most interesting sounding book is the last one - the one that's to do with planets. It'll be the first time they've done a book like that, and I know a lot of people want similar 'setting' sourcebooks for DH and RT.

And the one I'm looking forward to is, of course, Rites of Battle. Own Chapters, new rules and specialities, vehicles (probably Dreads) and it'll give all your guys WP bonus of 10 as long as you have it on the table. Awesome.

And, if you read between the lines of the recent interview that D6G did with Ross Watson, the Mark of the Xenos book is the book that'll have the Carnifex in it. Sadly it didn't make the DW core book (but we're getting three flavours of Gaunts, Genestealers, Broodlords, Tyranid Warriors and Hive Tyrants, so we can't really complain), but it should appear in this one.

And they're not too far away either. If we're lucky it'll be June next year for the Chapter/Vehicle one, and that's sweet.

I wonder what the adventure book will be like? Purge the Unclean never piqued my interest, but Lure of the Expanse was totallykillerawesomesauce.

Holy gak, that's fast. They usually wait for a year before giving you a rundown of what they are planning. And agreed, again the last book in the line is the most interesting.

If the last DW release does well, I'd expect a similar sort of thing for the Calixis Sector and Koronus Expanse to follow soon after.

Then I can take over the company and have them do a book all about my Aquila Sector!

Just to clarify when they said Winter 2011, they mean the January-March of 2011.

The depth of the background depends on the world really. Some have simply been defined as a world type, others a bit of history or some interesting quirk.

Then there are others, like Andronicon, way down in the bottom right-hand corner, that has a several thousand word document devoted to its history.

Riiiiight, when I'm really inspired I'll do that.

Though I am somewhat inspired to create a system of my own using the generator and a fancy map like the one you've got there.

Now that's dedication for you!
I started to create DH/RT locations, missions and other gubbins to explain my Rogue Trader led Guard force. One day I'll get enough of it done to post somewhere...

These new books all look like they will be of great use when I finally catch up with them all!

I wish I were as excited about GW's products as I am for these. Its amazing when a company actually tells you what to expect.

I'm either thinking along the lines of "Maelstrom is so good it cures cancer" or "*Insert obtuse forum user name here* is actually Jervis."

Or just plain old Please? Pretty please with glittery sugar, those funny little umbrellas and a bright red cherry on top along with a voucher for Maelstrom in an envelope on the tray of it?
