Dead Stars is a vast improvement upon Damned Cities. Overall I'm reasonably happy with the campaign, thematically it's very solid, but I do think it's a bit all over the place with regards to the challenges presented by some of the enemies, and some of the "clues" that the Pcs are supposed to pick up along the way..well.... best of luck to them.

Very brief bit of news:

If you're a GEN CON attendee, you're in for a treat. At noon this Friday, the servants of the Adeptus Mechanicum at FFG will reveal the prototype of the Deathwatch Collectors Edition at our booth. This is a sight not to be missed, a true relic.

If you're not attending GEN CON, we'll bring you some pictures of this "tome of tomes" friday night.

More details on the Deathwatch Collectors Edition and its general availability are in transit through the warp, and will be arriving to you in the weeks following the GEN CON convention.

No idea what this Collector's Edition is, and it's odd that they're only revealing it this late in the game, so I suspect some production problems. Nevertheless, it'll be around soon, and we'll see if it's worth its HUGE price tag.

It really depends on what kind of gubbins they add to this one. The RT version had a nice wax seal and a fancy cover, right? Maybe a bolter shell? I'd pay for one of those.

I want set of 6 metal Bolter Shell shot glasses, each one with the Chapter Symbol for the six included Chapters.

Perhaps H.B.M.C. isn't quite as evil a GM as we previously thought...

I don't know I would rather have full scale bolter shells and use them as tumblers they are supposed to be big enough for that.

Sorry, I've bought exactly five collectors edition books (D&D 3.5 PH, DMG, MM, because I was getting them autographed by Gary Gygax, as well as Shadowrun, and 40k 5e). I'm bigger on substance inside the book then shiny trinkets that come with it, since I can always get it rebound in leather. I really don't see the point in most cases of shelling out an extra $70 for a book, since things like a book signed by a fictional character, or a little warrant of trade, don't look to me like they're worth it. (Now, if they came with, say, a kit for building your own custom metal mini of your RT's ship, on the other hand, maybe with some BFG stats, I'd be on that like white on rice)

I'm the opposite of a GW cynic, trust me. I'm simply expecting to want whatever the Collector's Edition ends up being. I know my weak will and my love of special editions. Makes my wife angry.

Looks like it's going to cost a pretty penny.

Well a lot of people have the book now, and information is starting to appear online (such as Terminator Armour being AP14!!!).

Won't be long until someone at 4Chan gets'a hold of it, and then we'll all have something to read while we wait for our print copies to show up.

I'm impatient. If the normal edition is out a month before the collectors, I'll get the normal. I'm not waiting an extra x months and paying many more dollars (not to mention FFG only uses UPS, so the shipping to me will be more than the cost of the book) for something I could get quicker and cheaper.

Don't need to play them to enjoy the books. They're filled to the brim with great fluff, and really expand on things left dead by GW.

I owned a lot of DH books for over a year before we started playing.

I was saying I don't need the collectors ed I am thinking about getting the other one the coolness factor did not put it over the edge to want this one.

Yeah, but I just can't help using the collector's edition stuff I get.

It'd very nice to have that air of authority around the book as you open it to begin play. It's like a you're an inquisitor about to read from the holy book and pass judgement upon some heretics.
