Hey all, fairly new player in the game here, got a small eldar army with a guardian force set, farseer+warlocks, snipers, and dark reapers. I've played a few games (mainly losses) but I really enjoy it and the storyline in 40k. Thought I'd say hi.

Welcome to Dakka. Eldar can be tough for new players as it is a finesse army. You should look at some of the army lists there are some good builds and some standard builds that fairly well. I would lose the Rangers and Reapers the Reapers are too costly for small point games. For those points you could add a Wave Serpent and some Avengers.

rzsanguine is right, the Reapers and Rangers are pretty expensive (points wise). Until you're playing with big points limits (1750+) I'd avoid them.

Eldars were my second army and still one of my favorites.
I usually start collecting models I like and build up my army from there as I go.
You should should use whatever units you want as long as your having fun
