well, as the title said I'm a new guy. Been playing with borrowed models for a few months now and I've been reading 40k books for a few years. And honestly that's about it for my personal history with Warhammer. I am, however, full of questions on how to start my ork army as well as which direction to go with it. All I have now is the aobr orks (split the box with my friend who plays marines) I've been busy digging trough the tactica's (which helped immensely, props to the author) but I'm still curious about a lot of things. Any additional info would be highly appreciated. But other than that, thank you -cypher- for showing me this site and I'm happy to be here and happy to learn

Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.

With orks I'd say big units= go a long way. Shootas are usually not that much to boast about, but I have seen them do alright. The sheer laws of probability is that with more dice there will be alot that hit, regardless of their BS2.
Welcome.

Welcome to Daka! Go buy the codex would be my suggestion if you havn't already and read it till you know it by heart, then buy what you like. Remember at the end of the day it's a game if you had fun that's all that really matters win or loose. Also in each game use an ork voice to yell at your boyz as they die this should throw off the guy your playing. Best of luck.

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys. Much appreciated. Also thanks for the suggestions. Especially the advise to scream and yell in an ork accent at my models, that was hilarious and not a half bad idea

Welcome to Dakka! Investing in a Battlewagon/Trukk or two would be a good add-on to your existing orks.

Bout time you signed up smack. Dakkanaughts have endless amounts of information to plunder. Its a veritable gold-mine! Screaming in an ork voice would definitely throw off most opponents and makes for absolutely hilarious games. Battlewagons are also a great idea.

On a boat, Trying not to die.

Welcome to the Dakka, my friend.

A quick word of advice: Pick what you want to do. Whether it be an all foot army, a fast army in Trukks/Battlewagons, or a bike army. Having a 50/50 or a 33/33/33 army will get you, to put it bluntly, nowhere.
