Agreed, it is definitely toned down. In the netflix series, you'd have seen a close up of a few of those throwing knives sinking home, and one or two awful sound effects as a thrown projectile or a baton strikes something crunchy.
This one is much more focused on exploring the internal conflicts of Fisk and Murdock, as they tragically try (and fail) to leave their alter egos behind. I'm really hoping the back half of the series shows them losing control, and gets back to Daredevil devastating warehouses of gangsters, or undead ninjas, while Kingpin flips out and smashes his minions and rivals with absurd displays of brute strength.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleyways and mugs them for loose grammar.
Plenty is happening, but episodically it doesn’t feel like much is happening.
Upside? It doesn’t feel like much is happening in the right way. The carefully plotted, taking the right mount of time way. Not the “well, this was a movie padded out to a series” way.

I am enjoying it. I only caught a bit of the Netflix DD so I'm not comparing it to a previous version (although spearing flies with paperclips certainly gave an Afleck Daredevil vibe). The fight with Bullseye was definitely a muted affair compared to Marvel movies, more about the emotional event than the punch up itself.
I don't have a problem with the pacing so far - plotting seems fine.
Spoiler:
The cereal shoplifter was definitely his own worst enemy.

Ngl, I would have laughed if there was a seat for Jared Leto or one of the actresses from Madam Web. Can't feel like a Doomsday event if there isn't Morbin time. Especially since Tom Holland isn't in the movie from what's been shared.

There’s….theres a chair with Tom Holland’s name on it in video 😂😂
And I wouldn’t be laughing if Jared Leto had been announced for it. Bad enough he’s going to be ruining Skeletor, but I really don’t want to be buying a new pad due to Rage Disgust Induced High Speed Wall Interface, with bonus screeching at an uncaring universe.

I watched the short version of the video, all I saw was Tom Hiddleston? I don't see Tom Holland's name there, unless I'm going crazy.
It would be hilarious if they threw Leto under the bus by having a chair for him, but Rob there grabs it and throws it away. Otherwise, meh. It’s an Avengers film, I just assume it’s going to be an ensemble cast with most all the active MCU heroes. I only actually know the actor names for a few of them.

It's very much not filler.
Spoiler:
This is a big step in Matt's realisation that as much as he wants to, he can't stay out of it any longer. Makes the next episode less of an abrupt about-turn when he finally decides to mask up.
When Frank shows up, he always drops truth bombs; but the way he delivers them is so abrasive that no one bothers to listen to what he is trying to say. They just reject it because it is so off-putting.
I love it.

I noticed something odd in a recent rewatch of Captain America: Brave New World... the traditional red banner Marvel Logo and Marvel Fanfare score were not in the film.
Anyone know why?
