So here it is, all done! It is supposed to be a Striking Scorpion Wraith Lord.



The commission was a bit more challenging and time consuming that I thought it would be. All of the dreadlocks were rolled by hand, the chainsword needed to be scratch built, the Britelance converted to a rifle, and the legs and torso re-sculpted to the positions that they are in.

Originally I was given a photo of a Wraith Lord as a guide of what the customer wanted, and as great as the original conversion was, I felt like I wanted to do something that conveyed more of a sense of motion and "striking".

Sadly I will not be painting this guy as much as I would like to, but I will make sure and post some pictures of it painted when the client sends them to me.

So cool. We have honestly been talking about making a four player team tournament army with each player taking an aspect warrior because of your updates on this model. I am already designing a dark reaper army with wraithlords wielding scythes.

I can't recommend Redfinger highly enough - the final product speaks for itself (and then some!), but he is excellent on the customer service side of things as well.

Communication, WIP pics, etc. - all fantastic!

As for commissions and prices, I'd imagine they are all very unique and individual, and as such would have to be determined on a case by case basis.

Large base conversions start at $30, then depending on what you are looking for the prices changes from there, it is all based on the amount of time and material that will go into the conversion.

@Oaka- I am flattered that much work is such an inspiration! Post some pics of the work you do, I would love to see them.

Oh yes. It looks like you've captured the moment of pause after dispatching some opponent (lying in a heap behind him) where he leaps up to a higher perch to quickly survey the battle before choosing his next target.

Very fluid (the dreads help with this), very acrobatic and athletic. Strikes a wonderful contrast with an Imperial Dreadnought being a man encased in a machine. This is something very otherworldly... which I don't think comes through at all in the static eldar wraithlord poses... even with the willowy sculpts.

If I ever get out my eldar and try to revamp them... I'll be knocking on your door.

I always disliked the standard pose of the Wraithlord, but this.... I am in awe.
Great conversion work, and very well thought out pose and execution (love the dreads, great idea there)

Absolutely love this. The "Predator-style frills/dreads in the back of the helmet with the cabling, what did you use to achieve that effect? is that Greenstuff you rolled into long snakes/sausages, or something else? I think that might be my favorite part of the model. (Not taking anything else away from the stance, that is "ACE.")
