While I have been looking around Dakkadakk, I have noticed a severe lack of Chaos Daemons Battle reports or army lists. (Not including Daemons vs. Grey Knights which are to see what happens). Are they just not cool enough, they seem like a strong enough army to hold up on their own. Was just curious as to everyone's opinion.

I heard they're really annoying to play with the army coming in randomly.

- Death Wing and Green Wing
- Tacticals and Devastators

For one, the army has a lot of options that still aren't plastic. This puts a lot of people off. Personally, Daemons don't interest me. I like armies with some sort of humanizing factor - the Imperial Guard and Marines for obvious reasons, and there's a lot of personality from Orks. Daemons just sort of lack that, as do Tyranids.

They are very hard to play, even before gk, null zone was a pain, jokk caused problems, as did lack of ranged anti tank. Frankly, the odds are against you.

I could get mine to top 10, even won one with them, but required lots of luck and lots of thinking!

I for one play Daemons and I agree with previous statements, having very little control on where, or even HOW your army deploys puts off most players.

The metal models are a pain ithe ass to assemble but the painting is nice and the gameplay is always different, which is nice

Also ever seen a unit of 3 flamers wiping out a squad of terminators as if they were guardsmen? Beautiful.

Yeah, it's the models I don't like, I think they're pretty awful looking.

I wouldn't say they're bad though, some times they can be really hard to kill. I just think the army doesn't have that 'human' factor, whether it be evil or good, that I want from an army.

I have a load of Daemons, but I only wanted to use Khorne, imo mixing all the gods into one book is disgusting fluff-wise. I bought Ang'rath the Unbound just to paint, so decided to build a daemons army around him.
As its hard to make a competitive mono-god army, (and you can't take an 888 point gargantuan creature in most normal games ) I decided keep them fluffy and only use them with my CSM's in apocalypse games.

Second this! Ugly models, lots of metal, and expensive to play if buying units from GW. Plus did I mention the models are terrible. Except maybe a few of those bloodletters and khone riders.

I love my daemon army. It does well and most people hate playing against it and losing. Somebody needs to throw up the "haters gonna hate" picture. How ironic it will be if someone uses the Dreadknight picture for hating on daemons

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

It's always been the models. Even before they had their craptastic rules and were still in the CSM codex I couldn't stomache them.

Their models simply have no variety or customization, which was somewhat ok because they were more a fantasy army to begin with. Add to this that until very recently the majority of their range was metal. And a lot of their models were hideous...

And then if all that wasn't enough, their rules for 40k are absolute crap.
