Hello, I finally got around to creating an account for Dakka Dakka today and am looking forward to spending some time here. I got into Warhammer 40k about two years ago. It has taken me the full two years to build up any shape of an army though. Currently I am sitting oin around 600-700 points of Imperial Guard. Working to reach 1000 by the end of the Summer. =)

My brother also started Warhammer 40k recenetly with the Tau battleforce, so we have been able to have a few games.

I thought it would be nice to start off my time on Dakka Dakka with a battle report, so my brother and I decided to have a battle and take pictures. We should have the report finished, photos taken and a background story written all by tommorrow, hopefully. (It's about 50% done at the minute) Unfortunately our models aren't all yet painted, our interpretation the rules is probably very wrong and the amount of mistakes you will probably see in the battle report may drive you crazy. Hopefully the story around the battle will be strong enough to support otherwise shaky foundations. Sorry about this, it will hopefully get better in future.

Thanks for providing such an interesting site! Literally hours of my life have vanished as I was browsing the seemingly endless lists of army profiles.

I am terribly sorry, I assumed black would be the correct colour to use for my message. I've copied it below, I think it will appear visible now. Sorry about that everyone. Not a good start.

Welcome to Dakka Dakka, just wondering, what does ur IG army consist of?

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Haha, you're close enough. I actually enjoy some of the Romanian Eurovision entries: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-seDrv1eQo&feature=related

Thanks for the warm welcome. =)

At the minute my army consists of:

-Company Command Squad
-Platoon Command Squad
-2 Infantry Squads
-1 Veterans Squad
-1 Chimera
-1 Heavy Weapons Team (1 Autocannon, 1 Missile Launcher, 1 Mortar)

-I also got a Commissar Yarrick model as a present from a friend. I need to get metal glue to finish him though, so I haven't used him in a game yet.

I'll probably lose the mortar in favour of another autocannon. The mortar has only hit once in fifteen or so shots; whereas the autocannon has actually proved rather effective.

Oh, I also ordered in a squad of Karskin which should arrive any day now. I'm also looking at getting a Leman Russ Vindicator to give me some anti-vechile support in future. My army tends to be fairly anti-infantry at the minute.

My friend Kyle plays IG, but has like 5000 points!

Wow, the biggest game I ever had was a 1200 point one. A friend of mine has 1200 points of space marines, so I allied with my brother and formed an Imperial Guard-Tau Coalition against him.

5000 points is huge though. Is that an Apocalypse army? How many points do you need for Apocalypse?

I have a battle report ready now. What are the rules about posting it? And where can I post it?

Welcome to Dakka!
Yeah Battle Reports go in the WH40k Battle Reports Forum (i suggest reading a couple other reports for layout and whatnot)
And for removing the red, just delete the {colour=black} and {/colour=black} (where { = [) in your original post, just thought that might help.

Anyways, welcome to the site
