From a tiny Facebook blurb: "Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie is now available in HD !!! Digital Download $6.99 Now !!! Blu-Ray available september 25 2011 !!!"

To purchase the digital download or to register for more info on the Blu-Ray release you can go here: http://ultramarinesthemovie.com/home

I'd appreciate it if we could keep the obvious negativity and dead horses out of this one please.

Cool beans. Maybe I can get it to play on my iPhone so I have something to watch on weekend shifts. I'd still like to get my hands on the collector's edition though.

From going all the way through the purchase process (without actually purchasing it) I'm surprised they never specify any technical details. "HD digital download" is a meaningless way of putting it, kinda. We talking 720p, 1080p, what? They never say. Nor do they mention what container, and if it's infected with DRM or not.

I already bought the collectors edition - pre-ordered it, in fact - so I have no interest in getting this in a different format, but would be curious as to the details. If one of you guys who did buy the download could weigh in...

Per my download, it's 720p, but they have a 640p for the Iphone and the likes.

They give you a total of 3 downloads for both versions, 6 in total, so you can spread the love to your new computers and whatlike.

I have the collectors edition and honestly can't see why anyone would need the film in high def. It's not like you're watching it for the amazing visual effects and jaw dropping CGI

I liked film, but I can only imagine that HD would just draw more attention to the sub-par animation.

You say they give you 3 downloads - is this some proprietary format? Is it a DRM'd WMV, for the PC?

It is an mp4.

The quality is ace, really. Took forever to download though =/

The animation will look the same, but the textures are probably sharper.

$6.99 for this movie sounds very reasonable.

$7 for an HD digital download (hopefully 1080p but sounds like 720 from Cryonicleech's account) is a fair price. I'd pay the same amout for a phsyical normal DVD copy too (without the special edition fancy pants additions obviously... just the disc and a single page insert).

Wow, I can't believe they released a copy without DRM! That is worth $7, if you haven't gotten it yet.

In my opinion its worth more than that, I'd happily pay £10 ($15-ish I think) for it if I didn't have it already. I was just saying I don't see a point in "pretty-ing up" a film that, whatever happens, won't be great visually. I think its a good film but thats really nothing to do with the visuals. The voice acting, the story and the fact that they finally made a 40k movie was what made it good, HD won't change any of these things

I think they would have been better off keeping it at DVD quality and making it cheaper so anyone who's even vaguely interested in 40k would give it a go.

Any news on whether or not they released the soundtrack? That I would love to get my hands on.
